While Neuralink needs skull surgery and robotic implants, MIT engineers created the MouthPad—a 0.7mm retainer that sits on the roof of your mouth.
It works like a wireless trackpad. Your tongue controls the cursor. Tap to click. Swipe to scroll. All via Bluetooth.
Over 100 paralyzed users are already using it daily—up to 9 hours straight. One college student with quadriplegia uses it to write math equations in the library where voice systems don’t work.
No surgery. No external wires. Just a custom-fit dental retainer with pressure sensors and a battery.
It’s available now for $1,500 while Neuralink is still in trials.

HOWe built a brain-controlled car using NPG Lite, a powerful 3-channel neuro-biopotential signal device developed by our startup @myupsidedownlab
As @aman_maheshwari_02 focuses, NPG Lite detects beta waves from his frontal lobe to move the car forward. Technically we are sending a signal to Glyph H2 board from PCB Cupid which is attached to the Void bot car chassis from @padmalaya_2207
When he flexes his right or left hand, EMG signals from his muscles steer the car right or left accordingly.
This is just a demo of what’s possible when you blend EEG + EMG + creativity
Anyone can create their own BCI (Brain-Computer Interface) or HCI (Human-Computer Interaction) project using NPG Lite.

CLElon Musk says his company Neuralink just implanted its first brain chip into a HUMAN. Here’s how this works and why it matters:
Neuralink is working on brain-computer interfaces to try to let people control a computer with just their thoughts. They’re calling this first product “Telepathy” which… fits. The actual implant is a small electronic chip with sensors that can detect brain signals and then wirelessly send them to an app, which decodes them into actions.
They first controversially tested this on monkeys, and then back in September, the FDA approved Neuralink for its first human trials. This first human test is just to evaluate the safety of the implant and surgical robot. There are very few details so far, but Musk says that the implant is detecting neuron spikes - meaning it’s reading the electrical and chemical signals sent by the brain, which seems promising!

This is a brand new industry of technology called biocomputing.
These are real human neurons that can actually think and learn for themselves.
When scientists combine them with silicon chips they bring the computer to life.
Now if you’re like me, you’re probably wondering one thing…
Why are scientists doing this?
It feels a bit much to be growing human brains just to put them inside of computers.
Well listen to this…it turns out, human brain cells have extremely rare abilities to process things without being trained.
Normal computers need to be taught how to solve certain problems.
It’s why AI models take so much energy and training data to build.
But as soon as you add brain cells to a computer chip, they don’t really need as much training.
They kinda start figuring out what to do on their own, just like a human would.
Now because of this, these biocomputers are super efficient.
A regular supercomputer might use 40M watts of power to solve a complex task.
The human brain can do it in just 20.
That’s 2M times more efficient.
And this means these biocomputers could become the secret weapon to solving humanity’s hardest computational challenges.
But…there is just one massive problem…
Brain cells tend to die when their temperature deviates from 98.6 degrees.
And computers generate a ton of heat.
So we have this wild situation where living computers might be the solve for everything, but it’s almost impossible to keep the brain part alive.
Today, companies like Cortical Labs are selling these biocomputers for $35,000.
But over time, scientists are gonna figure out how to get them stable & more accessible.
It’s wild to say but I think soon we’re gonna have living computers that literally think like humans.
