Unorthodox 🥳❤️💪🏻 Competing in dressage bridleless at Weston Lawns! Super happy with Boogies progress in 2 weeks since our last test! We scored 69.4% in Prelim 6 and 69.5% in Novice 5 and he already felt stronger physically, and we are only really scratching the surface! My whole personal goal with this is for his self carriage to be entirely developed without reins. I really want to know if it’s possible, so he hasn’t once been ‘schooled’ wearing any kind of bridle in years now 😅 I know it would be easier to ‘help’ him with his balance and then take the bridle off, but that’s not the point here! A huge thank you to Keri for allowing me to do this at your wonderful show, and to Caroline from Mates Rates Horse Transport for being the ultimate groom, driver, and best chat 🥳 We are both absolutely LOVING our Pinnacle dressage WOW saddle, it’s been a total game changer for Boogie in his ability to lift his back! I’m wearing my @horzehoods_ltd compeition set ❤️ ……but desperately in need of a new jacket and boots to help make us look like we know what we’re doing 😂 Boogie is fed on @topspec_horse_feeds and supplemented with @omegaequine which helps him look and feel his absolute best 💪🏻 🎥 by the brilliant @richard_staff and @gemmaleanorton ❤️🙏 #theheartofhorsemanship #horsemanship #naturalhorsemanship #bridleless #bridlelessdressage

POV: you arrive at your dressage show… and realize you forgot your helmet 😅 So my second Z1 competition didn’t start exactly as planned. I had to start warming up in hand until my mother-in-law saved the day and brought my helmet 🙈 After that, the day actually turned out really nice. The first test felt great — the simple changes were clean and I finally dared to ride the extensions more forward. 💪🏼 The second test also felt good, but I made a mistake in the placement of the turn on the haunches… which resulted in two zeros. 🤯 The last simple changes also got a bit tense. Unfortunately the judges found it a bit too conservative. No points today. Still proud of the progress and the feeling overall. To pull it out of the bag at his most professional little comp yet…?!?! 🥹 It’s been a good few months of competing for our very first show season and whilst I have thoroughly enjoyed literally every second- I think the boys are starting to become a bit bored of it now- (hence the super slow second tests🤭) and so I think they are well overdue a good month or two spent out of the dressage boards and out hacking and popping the odd jumps to keep their minds nice and happy. I can’t wait to show you guys the difference between when we started doing these tests to now- this has by far been the most rewarding discipline with these boys- and I couldn’t be more pleased with how they’ve both been… I still have to pinch myself that I get to experience stuff like this on these animals… 🥹🙏🏾 - - - - - - - - - - #equestrian #horses #horse #dressage #horseriding

We made our debut at our very first dressage competition last autumn - and joined the club championship at the same time. Smart idea? 😂 Well… we certainly gained some amazing experience, got helpful feedback on what to improve (which we kind of already knew 😅), and Banksy got some top-notch exposure training. 🙌 He was an absolute star - calm, focused, and rocking his slightly crooked bling browband! Well words can’t describe a feeling like this, our first ever dressage competition and also first ridden competition of any kind for Clover today and I haven’t done a dressage competition for 12 years! We walked away with our heads well and truly held high with a very positive score of 69.86% and a 2nd place 🥈🤩 so super chuffed with the day and our test sheet aswell some absolutely incredible feedback and of course points to improve on but if this was the starting point I couldn’t have asked any more of her. Not a foot out of place the entire day, she’s one very special girly🐴🥰 Of course biggest thank you to my wonderful supporters and to my excellent coach for actually getting us to this point in our training!
