I’ve been eyeing this pattern for a minute and seeing all the beautiful versions of it, definitely gave the push to sew my own! (shout out to @genmadethat cause she influenceddd me to finally make this dress🤭). What really drew me in with this pattern is the bust bodice design, it’s so so so flattering. I omitted the scallops and the back zipper for my version. I saved a dress inspo recently because it reminded me of the #bubblefrock pattern by @lydianaomipatterns. The only difference was that they replaced the gathers with pleats which I thought was an original and super cute addition to the dress. A wrong fabric order from @divazus for my daughter gave me the push to try this hack. I’m in love with this soft yet slightly structured white cotton poplin.💃🏾 I don’t know how long I’ll manage to keep this white dress from getting stained 🤪. 🫧The Bubble Frock🫧 This dress brings me so much joy. It’s brought me out of my recent body dysmorphia funk that has managed to resurface after years of suppression. This is why we sew right? To make a garment fit us and not the other way around. @elliewhittakerstudio designs the most beautiful fabric and this Mountain Air in cotton sateen is simply fabulous. I’ve enjoyed every single step making the @lydianaomistudio bubble frock. Personally I don’t think the instructions are great for a beginner sewist but the fit is spot on! The bodice just fits like a glove! The empire waistline is simply *chefs kiss*. I also wish it comes in a projector file but I’ll take the AO layered file! 🩷💜❤️
