Individuals that did not climb onto forceps were gently grasped by the side of the thorax or legs with forceps during transfer. Colonies were allowed to acclimatize to the new nest box for at least 2 days from transfer before starting the experiment.”
The bumble bees were also provided with a sucrose solution and pollen. The laboratory was illuminated in a way that allowed for a natural circadian rhythm.
