🫖 SPRING AFTERNOON TEA 🫖 I was invited to a preview of Spring Afternoon Tea at @cafefloraveg. A Seattle favorite for over 30 years, this spot hosts tea time with a high-quality selection of tea, savory and sweet food options, inspired cocktails, and non-alcoholic options. Reservations are open now so sign up before it sells out! If you've been looking for a spot to try a curated English tea experience, I highly recommend this. I had the Peach Blossom White Tea. I tend to lean into white teas in the spring and summer. It was fragrant, light, and paired well with everything I ate. Savory and sweet baked treats are prepared by @theflorabakehouse. I can't resist a good scone. The lavender-vanilla scone topped with lemon curd was delightful! The poached asparagus and creamy blue cheese on pink peppercorn sable was my favorite bite. It looked unassuming but each ingredient harmonized with the others. The asparagus was poached perfectly. The blue cheese was smooth and not overpowering. The texture of the sable made for a perfect bite. The cheese dream shattered my expectation. I've eaten a lot of cheese bread in my time. The surprise came with the tomato flavor reminiscent of grilled cheese and tomato soup. Incredible! I tried the Kitsune Glow because it sounded so intriguing! It's hojicha-infused milk-washed rum, house made apricot gum syrup, and lemon. I enjoyed it and look forward to trying some of the non-alcoholic drinks next time. Reservations are open today! They always have a good balance of savoury & sweet options here. For savoury, some of my fav bites were their meatball marinara, sun-dried tomato & turkey sandwich and the spinach, red pepper, & goat cheese quiche 🥪 They also have the best scones in town in my opinion. It’s crumbly & soft, plus always packed with flavour. They currently have a raspberry-rosewater scone and cheese & chive scone 🤤 For sweets, I loved that they weren’t too sweet. Our favs were their strawberry-rhubarb mousse, Dubai chocolate brownie and strawberry matcha verrine 🍰🍵 What a incredible line up!
