Compact Vertical ‘Cine’ Build 🎥 Here’s a cool little setup I’ve been playing around with. I really love shooting with the VP-1 series of lenses and while the Focus Grip here might be overkill for most use-cases, it’s something I already own and makes pulling focus on a manual lens that much easier…I also love the ergo of the handle itself. The Mic 3 is great for capturing real-time sound effects and even pretty solid for capturing ambient sounds, but obviously any mic setup of your choosing could work here. The Polar Pro PM VND II is probably still the best VND I’ve tried…although I’ve been split between this and the Freewell CPL/VND. 🔗 I have a parts list for this build in my bio link called “ ‘Mini Cine’ Build 🎥 ” - feel free to use it for inspiration on your own setup or copy it part-for-part. 3 Different Gimbal Setups 🎥🤔 I genuinely have 3 gimbals that all serve a different purpose. I use the RS3 mini for mostly short vertical videos, the RS4 for most of my freelance gigs, and the OG Ronin S comes out when I have a heavy setup and need to shoot long hours. That said, the last setup is mostly satire and I’ve never actually filmed anything with it rigged up that way 😭 just peep the number of filters alone. Still pretty sick what’s possible with the Ronin S though! But for real, I feel like it’s the ‘creators’ that have the most wild setups of all…necessary? I doubt it…fun? Probably a little Shown here, The V mount is supplying power to the gimbal and the monitor. The gimbal is then supplying power to the camera via a dummy battery, and the ronin is able to control the camera via a direct connection (no bluetooth).
