"The future is now, old 741"👇 If you ever built a circuit in your life, you probably had a 741 op amp between your hands. This IC is ancient history to say the least. It was first designed in 1968 and its characteristics are well... not mind-blowing. Using a 741 in a real circuit is like choosing to use a bicycle in a Formula 1 race. Oh, and you have a flat tire as well. Nevertheless, 741s are still produced and widespread at the hobbyist level despite making absolutely no sense at all! There seems to be a kind of generalized sick attachment to this oldie, which prevents us from abandoning it for good. Why choose an inferior op amp when with the same money you can buy one with 1000x better characteristics? That makes no sense! Sorry, now I must go as I have just burned the last 741 I had and must rush to buy another one Have a question?
