CA🔥 CURRENT WILDFIRE ACTIVITY — WESTERN CAPE, SOUTH AFRICA 🔥
Wildfire activity is ongoing right now across the Western Cape, with crews continuing to battle multiple incidents through the Overberg and Cape Winelands Districts as fire-season conditions intensify.
In the Overberg, firefighters are still working the De Kelders / Stanford / Walker Bay fire now more than two weeks old. Crews remain on the line handling flare-ups, hot spots, and heavy mop-up in thick coastal vegetation and rugged terrain.
The Cape Winelands District is also reporting multiple active fires as of this morning. Ground teams and aerial resources have been deployed across several mountain zones to secure lines and stop new runs driven by heat, dry fuel, and shifting winds.
Although the large Heuningberg / Soetmuisberg fire between Bredasdorp and Napier has been contained, smouldering pockets remain and the region continues to face elevated fire danger.
