This is one update every parent of Class 6–10 MUST understand.
CBSE is introducing a structured 3-language system - R1, R2 & R3
Based on reading ✍️ writing 📝 and understanding 👀 levels.
Let’s simplify 👇
📌 Basic Rule
👉 Every student studies 3 languages till Class 10
👉 At least 2 MUST be Indian languages
📌 Simple Example (English-medium school)
👉 R1 = English
👉 R2 = Hindi
👉 R3 = Regional language
✔️ Rule satisfied
📌 Timeline (Very Important)
❗ Not implemented all at once
👉 2026–27 → Starts from Class 6
👉 Gradually moves to 7, 8, 9
👉 Fully reaches Class 10 by 2030
👉 If your child is in Class 6 - this starts NOW
👉 If in Class 9–10 - no sudden change right now
BUT READ THIS CAREFULLY 👇
⚠️ Your child must have cleared 3 languages till Class 8
❗ If not - they may NOT be eligible for Board exams
📌 Quick Rules to Remember
✔️ R1 & R2 cannot be the same language
✔️ Minimum 2 Indian languages compulsory
✔️ Relaxations available for:
– Foreign schools 🌍
– Children with Special Needs
– Foreign return students
