Every Celtic warrior needs her train. Boudicca led 100,000 Celts against the Roman Empire in 60AD. If she lived in 2026 she absolutely would have wanted you to wear it. And wear it in all the wild places… would you wear a train in the wild? #darkcottagecore #celticwoman #selkiedress #womenwhorunwiththewolves #wildwoman

Scottish folk magic is an open practise for anyone to explore, it is an animistic and diplomatic spiritual perspective on life. Living in deep connection and reverence for the natural world and it's rhythms and the ancestors. Like many pagan traditions, respecting the natural world like a neighbour is a fundamental aspect of Scottish folk magic. This is a principle that no one in the world follows like we used to. The land is seen as a living being or being imbued with a living spirit, home to a world living parallel to ours. Reflected in the tales of Cailleach, the giantess goddess that shaped the hills and mountains of Scotland and Ireland, she is dually depicted as a cold unforgiving and beautifully ethereal ancient women. Personifying the landscape and dual nature of Scotland and Ireland. The respect and fear that Scottish people in the old days had was reflective of their creideamh-sìth (fairy belief). In Celtic mythology of Scotland and Ireland, we believe that there was a race of supernatural people, the Tuatha dé dannan or sìthean, that merged into the hills, lochs and forests when we arrived in these lands, living parallel to us even today. I believe that hospitality and humility are fundamental aspects of Scottish folk magic too, such as the highland law of hospitality. Both traits are heavily engrained into our culture, Scotland is well known for their hospitality. We are also well known for being self-disparaging when complimented, which was a common way to ward off the evil eye in ancient Scottish folk magic and I believe it has carried on and just become so engrained in our modern culture. These are common human values that people of any background can practise anywhere in the world, even in cities. Respecting the land and the waters, being thankful for the air we breathe and living in tune with natures rhythms. #witch #witchesofinstagram #celticspirituality #pagan #witchcraft

Forever that weird girl with a fascination for ancient places. 👋 Note to my friends… we all are bombarded before sunrise. We are faced with deadlines that bleed into each other and there’s always a constant, low hum of not enough. And then you stand inside a stone circle. 4,000 years of seasons have turned on this ground. Women have stood exactly here, at Samhain, at Beltane, at the first frost, and looked up at the same sky. The circle wasn’t built to impress. It was built to orient. To remind a people that they belonged to something that didn’t rush. We didn’t lose that need. We just buried it under noise. Come back to the stones. She has Celtic roots. Obviously. 🌿

In Celtic lands, wells were portals. Women tended them with reverence, conducting rites of healing, oath-making, and seasonal alignment. To violate a sacred well was to disrupt the balance of an entire civilization. Among Indigenous peoples, water keepers—often grandmothers—held songs, ceremonies, and ecological knowledge. They understood water as a relative, not a resource. Across Europe, the well maidens—keepers of what became the Grail lineages—tended sacred waters, sustaining the land and its people. As long as the wells were honoured, life remained in balance. Offer song, prayer, mantra, humming or pure silence. Leave only natural offerings such as flowers, shells and crystals. 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 #scotland #waterpriestess

"Community wasn't a feeling; it was a structural obligation." 🍲 We treat hospitality like a massive, saintly favor today. But in ancient Ireland, it was literally the law. Under the Celtic Brehon Laws, if a traveler arrived at your door, you were legally required to take them in and feed them according to their station in life. If you refused? They could take you to a judge, and you would be heavily fined. It is easy to look back and think the ancient Celts were just incredibly kind people. But the reality is much more stoic. It was pure, pragmatic survival. A starving man is a desperate man. A freezing neighbor destabilizes the clan. They understood that keeping the people around you fed and warm wasn't just "nice"—it was the only way the society survived the winter. #Stoicism #History #Celtic #IrishFolklore #Tavern

In the old Celtic teachings there are three cauldrons that live within the body. The Cauldron of Warming. The Cauldron of Motion. The Cauldron of Wisdom. The Cauldron of Warming sits in the belly and pelvic bowl. It holds our life heat. Our vitality. Our steadiness. When it is strong, life moves easily. When it is low, everything begins to feel heavier. So in the old ways we do not push harder. We warm first. Warm food. Warm light. Warm breath. Warm presence in the body. This month inside The Hearth we are gently tending the Cauldron of Warming together. Not to force change. Simply to restore the warmth that allows life to move again. #celticwisdom #beanfeasa #celticspirituality #soulnestsanctuary #shamanichealingaustralia
