I have also shown a comparison between sc and sc dec. 🧶In order to make a sc dec: Recognise the two adjoining stitches where you want to make a sc dec. we are calling them sc 1 and sc 2 1. Insert your hook in sc 1, pull up a loop, you have two loops on your hook. 2. Now, insert your hook in sc 2, pull up a loop, you now have three loops on your hook. 3. Yarn over, pull through all 3 loops. Your sc dec is ready This technique is used to reduce/decrease the number of single crochet (sc ) stitches in a row/round. It is usually used in patterns for amigurumi, wearables and wallet flaps. There are a number of methods to make a sc dec. Today I have shared a basic and beginner friendly method. This is my favorite way to do a CDD (Center Double Decrease). In a previous video, I showed the typical way of doing it: slip 2, knit 1, pass the slipped stitches over. But I like how this method knits all 3 stitches together at once: 1. One stitch before your marked stitch: slip 2 stitches at the same time as if to knit. 2. Slip 1 more stitch as if to knit. 3. Put the left needle through the front of the 3 slipped stitches, and knit all 3 stitches.
