SE🟢Just finished a super challenging rig for @3000__studio — one of the most complex I’ve done so far!

I took inspiration from @edwardurena12 brilliant technique, the same one used in @pixar Win or Lose. It’s all about giving animators full freedom over facial features — moving the nose, mouth, ears anywhere on the face, changing size, shape — total flexibility.

The result? A character rig that’s expressive, dynamic, and super fun to animate.

STHow to create a 🔥 animation 👉🏻
BEGINNERS: start by drawing a wild flame over and and over. Changing the shape a little with each frame. That’s it!
INTERMEDIATE:
1. create wave motion going back and forth.
2. draw simple flame on top. (Be sure to round it towards the direction its going, like a sail) color it in in red
3. create a little flame inside. Color it in yellow
4. add some flame bursts.
PRO LEVEL:
1. add a background
2. repeat INTERMEDIATE for flame
3. create small air pockets by having a dot go up frame by frame to help guide you. And carve this out from the flame.
4. add a gradient to the flame
5. some more sparks

Fun fact: i‘ve recorded this tutorial more than 4 times and can‘t count how many flames i‘ve animated 🤪.
