Some squats, some pets, some sun rays, some in between sets knitting… what’s not to love? 💗 I’ve still been lifting, but like the seasons, my relationship shifts in the winter with my workouts. I tend to do a little more cardio (for warmth) and more power lifting… more focus on technique. It’s a good time to build a strong base for the upcoming warmer months when I like to push the weight more, and do more lifts requiring accuracy and agility. I’m doing a squat focus quarter for the winter months. Here’s my last set of five at a moderate 155lbs of five sets today. Kept it on the two minutes to stay honest. The dogs had fun getting pets and I got a few rounds of my holiday socks knitted between sets before my Metcon. I’m wearing my Page Hoodie by @chalkandnotch with the crew neck hack… one of my favorites to workout in bc it’s so warm and the cut is perfect for moving. Hello everyone! 👋🏼 After a little break, I’m back (again) on Insta. Today, I’m super excited to share a special outfit that brings back some travel memories… I’m wearing the #sewingmabel top by @tillybuttons and the #cnevelyn skirt by @chalkandnotch , both made with a unique silk fabric I found in South Korea from a lovely grandpa at the Gwangjang market. I love this outfit because it reminds me of my vacation and that special moment of discovering the fabric! These two patterns took me a bit out of my comfort zone, which was a fun experience. The Evelyn skirt, with its front slit, looks beautiful, but it does go a little higher than I’m used to. It’s a lovely design, though I end up wearing it a bit less frequently… Something I might adjust next time I make one! As for the Mabel top, I found the construction a bit tricky—there were parts that felt a bit uncertain, and as a result, the interior finishes aren’t as neat as I’d like. Despite that, I really love the look of this blouse! I don’t have many dressy tops, so I’d like to make it again, maybe tweaking the technique a bit to improve the finishes. Back in September, we went to take some photos at the Albert Kahn Garden, a gorgeous spot with breathtaking Japanese inspired landscapes.
