Chess is one of the oldest strategy games, with its origins based on Indian civilization. Historians accept that the game emerged in the 6th century A.D. in India under the name “Chaturanga.” With its pieces reflecting military order, this game laid the foundation of modern chess. Chaturanga consisted of pieces such as the pawn, horse, elephant, and war chariot representing the army. These pieces gradually evolved into the ancestors of modern chess pieces. In this early stage, the game was used as a training tool to teach war tactics. As the game spread from India, it reached the Persian Empire and took the name “Shatranj.” Shatranj made the rules of chess more systematic and clarified the movement of the pieces. Thus, the second major developmental stage of chess emerged. Shatranj attracted great interest in the Islamic world and was accepted as an important intelligence game in intellectual circles. Thanks to strategy books written by Arab scholars, the game spread to Europe and developed even further there. In Europe, in the 15th century, chess took a form close to its current state. The movements of the queen and bishop were strengthened, the game became faster, and modern rules took shape. This period is considered the birth of modern chess. Today, chess has gained the status of an international sport governed by FIDE and has reached millions through digital platforms. Thanks to artificial intelligence engines, online tournaments, and educational applications, chess continues to exist as both a traditional and technological mind sport. #chess #magnuscarlsen #chessedit #hikarunakamura #chessmaster bobbyfischer chessplayer gukeshdommaraju chesscom chessmoves checkmate chesstactics chesslife chesspuzzle

ALL INFO BELOW ⬇️ ⛔️ WARNING: This is not an objective list, just my recommendations (2000+ FIDE ELO) With 5 Books, you want to cover 5 parts of the game: 1️⃣ CHESS: 5334 Chess Problems by László Polgar You NEED to practice your tactical ability: TO WIN. This book has it ALL. The author trained his three daughters to become Grandmasters, all breaking records. The book is THICK and should be used as a way to practice the basic mates all the way to hard combinations. Highly recommend. 2️⃣ Silman’s Complete Endgame Course by Jeremy Silman Another big book that if you are a beginner, you profit the most from as it starts very easy and climbs in difficulty by chapter. Studied seriously, this book can make you go from beginner to intermediate quite efficiently. It is FULL. It has all you need for your endgames. Why study the endgame even if it might not come up in your game? Endgames are the base of chess. Don’t take it from me, take it from our 3rd World Champion José Raúl Capablanca: “In order to improve your game, you must study the endgame before everything else, for whereas the endings can be studied and mastered by themselves, the middle game and the opening must be studied in relation to the endgame.” 3️⃣ & 4️⃣ Mastering Chess Openings Volume 1 and Volume 2 by John Nunn You need a book that tells you what to do in the opening moves (and what you should do versus your opponent!). John Nunn is a Grandmaster who is talented at explaining the subtleties in full simplicity. I have used these books for over 15 years since I was a kid. They helped get my feet off the ground and not be clueless in the opening Volume 1 is for players that play 1. e4 and Volume 2 for players of 1. d4 My argument for needing both is simple: You will either play 1. e4 or 1. d4 in your life and will 100% face both. 5️⃣ The Mammoth Book of the World’s Greatest Games by Nunn and Emms Honestly this can be replaced with any book that contains a games collection of master games. You must get your feet wet and learn how the masters of the past and today play! This will feed you an intuition and feel for the game! HAPPY CHESS STUDIES! ⭐️

Try this attack in your next game!🌟 The Scotch Game is one of the oldest chess openings, first documented in the late 18th century. It originated from a game played between two Scottish players, John Cochrane and William Fraser, in 1824. The opening was named after these Scottish roots, as it was popularized by players from Scotland during that time.” It gained broader recognition when German chess master Johann Ludwig Paulsen analyzed it, but it was officially named ‘the Scotch Game’ after it appeared in correspondence matches between Edinburgh and London chess clubs in the early 19th century. The opening’s primary move order, 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. d4, seeks to open the center early, leading to dynamic and tactical play. It became particularly famous when World Champion Garry Kasparov revived it in the 1990s, using it to great effect in high-level games.”
