TYInside Chabad Chessed, something incredible is happening. Over the past 20 years they’ve moved more than 1.5 million Jewish books, collecting tens of thousands each year and making them available for anyone who wants to learn. Yeshivas, shuls, and individuals come daily to take sefarim on an honor system, with people encouraged to leave a small donation to support the chesed. From a 1700s Hamburg machzor to tiny pre-war sefarim from Russia, these books carry generations of Jewish learning. Especially around Purim, when giving to others is central, Chabad Chessed reminds us that sharing Torah can be one of the greatest acts of chesed.

HOIf you lend money to any of my people with you who is poor, you shall not be like a moneylender to him, and you shall not exact interest from him (Shemos 22:25).

✨ Lending money interest-free to someone in need is one of the greatest mitzvos – even greater than regular tzedakah, as it preserves the borrower's dignity (Rambam & Chazal). 🙌 Here, the woman expresses her thanks humbly with 'Thank you for the bother' – an approach (e.g., as noted by the Torah Temimah on Devarim 23:20) that focuses on the lender's effort rather than the loan itself, avoiding potential ribbis devarim concerns (verbal interest, rabbinical). 💭
