Although some critics weren’t impressed, I personally disagree—I find it to be one of the finest launches this year, offering a beautifully direct and authentic vetiver aroma. Performance is moderate, as usual with the British house, but they always excel at delivering scents that are both refined and pure.

DRWOW! How could I have slept on this! Alright, this is how it started! Ormonde Jayne was sold at Lianne Tio, the only niche perfume house in Rotterdam for many years (later called La Cour des Parfums). Unfortunately the owner, whom I became friends with, passed away a few years ago. Later I encountered another dear friend of hers and we chatted. I complimented him on his perfume and he told me it was Lianne’s favorite perfume! This perfume was Ormonde Jayne Black Gold. Unfortunately it was discontinued but I happened to find a bottle of it and immediately fell in love with the perfume! No wonder such a well trained and experienced person as Lianne loved it so much! Recently I got a message from Ormonde Jayne that they wanted to send me a bottle. Ofcourse I accepted it. I told them I loved Black Gold, so they said that if that was the case I would love Nawab of Oudh! Well… they were right! What a stunning perfume! I can’t even start describing it because the notes are so intertwined. Oud is perhaps not the right description since I don’t get that much Oud but who cares about the name if the perfume smells so sophisticated, casual yet formal, seductive yet familiar! This is signature scent worthy and it has been my scent of the day for the last two weeks! It is so addictive! Thank you @ormondejayne for this amazing recommendation and gift!
