Your STM32 isn’t β€œdead”. Your clock layout is. If your microcontroller: β€’ Won’t boot β€’ Randomly resets β€’ Fails intermittently β€’ Shows unstable timing Check the crystal traces. Long. Angled. Running near noisy lines. That 4MHz (or 8/16MHz) crystal is sensitive. Bad routing = distorted clock = unstable startup. Golden rules: β€’ Keep traces short β€’ Keep them symmetric β€’ Place crystal close to MCU β€’ Avoid running under noisy signals β€’ Proper grounding around crystal Clock stability = system stability. Before rewriting firmware… check the PCB. Save this for your next board revision.
