Let’s practice subtraction! This hands-on subtraction activity has students acting out subtraction equations with a sneaky leprechaun! Students read the subtraction equation and place the correct number of ‘gold coins’ on the pot. I painted some beans gold.☺️ Next, have students take away the correct number of gold by placing them in the leprechaun cup. Last, students will count how many coins are left on the pot to get the answer. This subtraction activity is lots of fun, hands-on, and really shows students that subtraction means taking away.
