Not A Clickbait 🚨 once-in-a-generation Comet just got discovered and it's might be one of the brightest comet of 20th century 🤯☄️ What’s happening? ☄️🤯 Comet C/2026 A1 is a rare Kreutz sungrazing comet, the same family that produced some of the brightest comets in history. It was discovered very far from the Sun, which suggests it has a large nucleus (~2.5 km). That means it could survive its close pass by the Sun. And if it breaks apart, it could become even brighter, similar to Comet Ikeya–Seki (1965). The last bright sungrazer we saw was Comet Lovejoy, visible to the naked eye near the Sun. Famous sungrazers like the Great Comets of 1843 and 1882 were so bright they reportedly cast shadows on Earth. 👀 This could be a once-in-a-lifetime comet... Comet C/2025 R3 PANSTARRS captured over Joshua Tree this morning before dawn! The Comet is currently making its way towards the Sun and dramatically brightening so it is now visible to the naked eye and features a very long tail. There is still time to see it this weekend in the pre-dawn hours. Look to the Northeastern sky in the constellation Pegasus about 60-90 minutes before sunrise. It will be low to the horizon so be sure to find a spot with clear line of sight. Good luck! #comet #cometpanstarrs #astrophotography #astronomy #timelapse

The Comet Atlas reappeared last night in the Northern Hemisphere, setting in the early night within Northwest Colorado above the cities of Steamboat Springs, Hayden, and Craig. Atlas is now moving away from Earth each day, but should remain visible to the naked eye in the western night sky after sunset for another week! Is 3I/ATLAS an alien spaceship? 👽 I tried to find out by capturing the comet with my telescope. After over 1 hour of exposure time, the final image reveals a stunning dust tail, slowly being stripped off the comet's surface. ☄️ This is exactly what we would expect from a natural comet: no sharp edges, no artificial structure, just gas and dust following the laws of physics. 🔬 So no - it's not from an alien civilisation (sadly). But it still is something special: an interstellar visitor. ✨ This comet was likely ejected from it's own solar system and is now wanderung through the vastness of space. Comet Lemmon is on track to hitting Magnitude 3 based on predictions. This means it will be very naked eye visible for anyone in a dark sky. We are 10 days out from hosting our 2nd comet wkshp with @mountainmarkphotography and we couldn’t be more stoked with how this comet is shaping up. Still time to join us… This Timelapse of Comet Tsuchinshan was taken last year during our wkshp with Mt Adams in the distance. Happy ☄️ chasing and if you hurry, there’s still time to join us this year!!

Comet Lemmon rising over Joshua Tree National Park! The Comet is now visible to the eye. Because it is now rising closer to sunrise, it is best to view in the evenings. Starting about 1.5 hours after sunset, when it gets dark enough, look to the Northwestern sky. Tonight, Oct 20, it will be diagonally above and to the right of the bright star Arcturus. Or look for the Big Dipper and follow the direction the handle points to and you will find it. While out there, be on the look out for the Orionid meteor shower. It will peak in the late night. Comet C/2025 R3 (Pan-STARRS) captured from my backyard this morning ( April 12th) over the eastern horizon before sunrise. It’s now 77 million miles away, 14 million miles closer than my last photo on April 8th! You can currently find it in the constellation Pegasus, low in the eastern sky just before dawn. Its magnitude 5.1 should be visible with the naked eye under a very dark sky. I saw it with my binoculars only as a fuzzy star from my light polluted yard. The comet looks much better now as it’s brightened and the Moon is not interfering as much. This week should be the best time to catch a glimpse or a photo of the comet as it should brighten significantly and the Moon will no longer interfering. The Comet is more easily observed from the Northern Hemisphere right now, but once it emerges from the Sun at the end of the month it will be an evening comet for the Southern Hemisphere. This could be when it’s at its brightest. I used my RASA8 telescope for this shot. The time lapse shows the movement of the comet over 50 mins and the photo is a stack of the best 15 minutes of exposure time. Follow for regular updates! What a year it’s been so far for astronomical events. A total solar eclipse, the aurora, and now a comet. I headed down to my favorite local overlook this evening in search of the comet tsuchinshan-atlas. About 45 minutes after sunset, a faint blur appeared on the horizon. Soon you could even see the tail with the naked eye! I’m glad that I got to glimpse and photograph this amazing comet before it leaves us to return in 80 thousand years. 📸: Sony A7siii, 70-300 G lens at 130 mm, ISO 640, F5, aperture priority mode #comet #comettsuchinshanatlas #timelapse #astrophotography
