So your web server needs to be public so people can visit your site. Cool. But now you’ve basically given the internet a path straight into your internal network. That’s where the DMZ comes in, it keeps public stuff isolated so one exploited server doesn’t mean your whole network’s cooked.🧍‍♂️ The firewall allows outbound connections from the internal network to the internet but it blocks unsolicited inbound connections from the internet to internal systems.
