The Smartest Plays Often Look Like Surrender 👇 In this scene, the head of a powerful trading firm suddenly orders everything sold, starting with a major telecom position. To everyone watching, it looks unhinged. He talks about burnout, being rich enough to quit, and finally stepping away. He vanishes for days, relaxing while rivals assume he’s lost his edge. Then reality hits. The telecom stock collapses. The market follows. And what looked like exhaustion was actually insulation. His move wasn’t emotional — it was strategic camouflage. By framing foresight as fatigue, he avoided spooking competitors and exited before the damage surfaced. The lesson is brutal and simple: the best strategies don’t announce themselves. They hide in plain sight while everyone else misreads the signal. Most people assume that if 1,000 people are doing a thing, then their competition is 1,000 people. This is flawed thinking. The truth is that ~500 of them probably have no business being there in the first place. Another ~200 will put in mediocre effort. Another ~100 will go hard in the beginning and quickly lose steam when results take longer than expected (because they always do). Then, they'll quit. Now you're left with 200 real competitors, not 1,000 - and NONE of those people are YOU. They don't have your perspective, your expertise, your "golden key" to unlock success. This is why I never worry about a market or industry being "saturated," because a saturated market and a competitive one are two entirely different things. Do things the way YOU do them, set yourself apart, focus on highlighting your individual strengths. Do this properly and consistently for long enough, and you won’t be viewed as a possible solution to someone's challenge - you'll be the only name that comes to mind. #competitors #competition #success #dominate #successmindset #entrepreneurs #entrepreneurship #lifelessons #business #amg #amggt #mercedes #supercars

🎥 Commente « live » si tu veux que je t’envoie la vidéo de ma conférence en entier en DM 🎥 Last week I gave a speech about how we built @aircall.io and took it to a multibillion dollar business. The most important learning I have from that period is to always check your competitors, and make sure you work more and better than them! 🎥 Comment “live” if you want to have the full video! 🎥 Merci @lucasmonteils pour m’avoir suivi lors de cette conférence et pour ce montage 📺 @aircall.io Entrepreneurship #StartupLife #BusinessSuccess #GrowthMindset #Aircall #StationF #MultibillionDollarBusiness #Innovation #WorkHardPlayHard #Inspiration #Leadership #SuccessStory #TechEntrepreneur #BusinessGrowth #Disruptors #Motivation #NeverGiveUp #Competitors #BusinessTips 🎥 Comment “live” if you want to have the full video! 🎥

Audi once ran a clever spot that praised its competitors while positioning itself as the all around choice 🚗💡 The ad opens with the question What do you want in a car? and then shows keychains from rival brands like Volvo for safety, Mercedes Benz for comfort, BMW for performance, and Alfa Romeo for design. Each is highlighted for what it does best, and then the four keychains are shown locking together to form Audi's four ring logo, implying that Audi offers all those strengths in one car. What made this execution stand out was its respectful yet confident tone. Instead of mocking rivals or pointing fingers, the ad acknowledges what each brand brings to the table and then makes its own case without insulting anyone's choice. It became a viral example of how to use competitor recognition as a way to elevate your own positioning, showing confidence without negativity in a crowded luxury car market. The brilliance is in the framing. Audi didn't claim to be better at any single attribute. It claimed to be the synthesis of all of them, positioning itself as the rational choice for buyers who want everything without compromise. This is high level brand strategy. Acknowledge the competition's strengths, then reframe the conversation so your product becomes the logical conclusion. Love Technology? Follow @lucre_empire for more insights like this! The smartest plays in business rarely look like brilliance in the moment — they look like surrender. In this scene from *Billions*, the head of a major trading firm suddenly orders everything sold, starting with a massive telecom position. To everyone watching, it seems irrational. He talks about burnout. About being rich enough to walk away. About finally stepping back. Then he disappears for days, relaxing while rivals whisper that he’s finished… that he’s lost his edge. But the truth hits later. The telecom stock collapses. The broader market follows. And what looked like exhaustion was actually insulation. His move wasn’t emotional — it was strategic camouflage. By framing foresight as fatigue, he avoided spooking competitors, exited quietly, and sidestepped the damage before it surfaced. That’s the brutal beauty of high‑level strategy: 📌 The best plays don’t announce themselves 📌 They hide in plain sight 📌 They let others misread the signal 📌 They win by appearing harmless, distracted, or defeated Power often moves under the cover of weakness. And by the time people realize what happened, the game is already over. Competition shouldn’t dictate your decision making Prioritize customer needs over worrying about competition. Jeff Bezos has a famous philosophy of hyperfocusing on users and delivering maximum value to them. Rather than being consumed by the actions of competitors, the key lies in catering to the customer base that already loves the product and desires its success.
