ARHow to use colour wheel to paint any subject⬇️
•observe the reference and asses where the subject is receiving maximum light (that will be the highlight,the area where the subject is receiving light(the base colour)and the area that is receiving less light(shadow).
•paint the base layer first,for example i painted using orange colour.
•now take a look at the colour wheel and mix the complementary colour (the colour that lies opposite on the colour wheel)with your base colour to paint natural looking shadow.
In the video i mixed orange with a little blue to paint the shadows.
•use analogous colours(the colours that lies adjacent on the colour wheel)to paint highlights.i used yellow for the orange.
•for the falling shadow use the complementary colour of your base colour.i used blue as its the complementary of orange.
And you are done .using this method you can paint any subject with the most natural looking shadows.
