Especially if you are at the beginning of learning how to be a computational biologist, most probably you are facing problems that also others had. Chances are, they may have figured out a way to solve that problem.
Nowadays, thereโs an answer to almost anything online, but you have to know what to ask to get help.
It doesnโt matter if you are asking Google, StackOverflow, ChatGPT or your experienced colleagues. You need to formulate sharp and correct questions, with the correct vocabulary, and you will eventually get there.
While I am a huge believer of dealing with your problem and try to solve it, there is no need to reinvent the wheel!
Donโt waste days to figure out how to compute a pvalue. Study and investigate established methods and pipelines, ask whoever/whatever you think is knowledgeable, and then ASK YOURSELF if that method is applicable and if it suits your research question.
At the end, it is always a matter of asking the right question!

The result? A detailed 215 million voxel simulation, rendered in just 23 minutes on a Titan Xp GPU. And with all graphics processed directly within FluidX3D using OpenCL, there's no need for data transfers to the CPU, streamlining the entire process ๐ป๐จ

I just love that my first attempt to using physics simulations to create forms immediately generated a silly putty looking form. This was never a goal of mineโฆ it just went that way.

The reason for this is quite simple - I have a lot of time and I get bored.
Monte Carlo methods, or Monte Carlo experiments, are a broad class of computational algorithms that rely on repeated random sampling to obtain numerical results. The underlying concept is to use randomness to solve problems that might be deterministic in principle.
This code uses the Monte-Carlo method to simulate the magnetic behaviour of a 2 dimensional crystal.
2 methods have been used in this code.
The first shows Ising model solved using the Metropolis algorithm, and the second shows Ising model solved using Heatbath Algorithm.

Our goal was to minimise waste by testing the limits of #steambending instead of cutting sheets.
