Marco Franzon created a web app to teach people computer vision basics. It will allow users to upload an image or video stream and instantly view it as a numerical pixel matrix, with options to display values in RGB, Hex, or Grayscale formats. It features predefined convolution kernels applied in real-time: - Sobel operator for edge detection (computes gradients to highlight boundaries) - Gaussian Blur: averages neighboring pixels with weights to reduce noise - Sharpen: boosts local contrast to enhance details Follow @techwith.ram for more such contents. 🎬 mfranz_on (X)

Computer Vision is an important field of Artificial Intelligence that allows computers to see and understand images and videos. πŸ€– It helps machines analyze visual information and recognize objects, faces, and patterns just like humans do. Computer Vision is widely used in technologies such as face recognition, medical imaging, self-driving cars, and security systems. Because of these capabilities, Computer Vision plays a major role in many modern AI applications. Can you name one technology that uses Computer Vision? Computer vision roadmap πŸ’» So if you’ve been learning deep learning for a while, then you probably know that you either go computer vision or NLP. Rarely, you can go both if you’re ambitious like I aspire but fail to be! Save this post, and let’s first go into the definition: Computer vision is a field of AI that enables machines to interpret and understand visual data from the world, such as images and videos. Computer vision engineers develop algorithms and systems to automate tasks like image classification, object detection, and image segmentation, transforming visual data into actionable insights for various applications including healthcare, autonomous driving, and security. To start learning computer vision, you should have some knowledge from: Programming, preferably Python Probability and statistics + linear algebra, it’s super-important Basics of data exploration and analysis Classical machine learning Neural networks concept, particularly ANNs So, now that we established the basics, here’s what you need to learn: Neural Networks Basics: Understand architecture, training fundamentals. Convolutional Neural Networks: Image-specific neural network structures. Advanced CNN Architectures: Explore ResNet, Inception, EfficientNet. Image Classification: Categorize images into predefined labels. Object Detection: Locate and identify objects. Image Segmentation: Partition images into meaningful segments. Transfer Learning: Adapt pre-trained models for tasks. Generative Models: Create new data samples. 3D Vision: Depth estimation, 3D reconstruction techniques. Project Development: Real-world applications, portfolio projects. I know that this can look overwhelming at first, but it doesn’t have to be. I want to share a limited-time offer for everyone struggling with getting started. In the next 72h I’ll be sharing my Computer Vision AI specialization roadmap for everyone who needs a paved way for learning, but doesn’t know how. Make sure to follow @codingmermaid.ai Comment computer vision and I’ll send you the invitation to access the roadmap! Looking forward to your learning journey, cheers! Are you team computer vision or team NLP? 🧐
