CO日本上陸30周年を迎える〈The Conran Shop（ザ・コンランショップ）〉。創業者のテレンス・コンランさんの孫の一人で、デザイナーでありアーティストであるフィリックス・コンランさんは、パートナーのエミリーさんとともに奈良県東吉野村にお住まいです。
コロカル10月の月刊特集は「ふたりのコンランが愛したジャパン・ローカル」。フィリックスさんが、ニューヨーク、ロンドン、シドニーといった、最先端のカルチャーが集まるまちから、東吉野に住もうと思ったきっかけや、東吉野村での生活から、日本のローカルの魅力を改めて紐解きます。
The Conran Shop oversaw the design of the hotel "HACIENDA VISON" in Taki, Mie Prefecture. The artist behind its sophisticated guest rooms is Felix Conran, grandson of Terence Conran, the founder of The Conran Shop. Felix now resides with his partner Emily, and their two dogs in Higashiyoshino Village, Nara Prefecture.
Having long dreamed of living in Japan, they quickly found a favorite spot, bonded with the local community, and are enjoying village life.
The October feature in Colocal, titled “Japan Local, Loved by Two Generations of the Conran Family,” It introduces Felix’s life in Japan and his perspective on the charms of Japan’s local culture.
