This message from Marriage Coach Alok highlights a critical dynamic in modern partnerships: mutual respect for professional ambition. It serves as a reminder that a wife's career should never be dismissed as a "hobby," even if she balances domestic responsibilities. True partnership means recognizing that her dreams and deadlines carry as much weight as yours. Breaking the "Hobby" Myth in Marriage A healthy relationship requires both partners to actively celebrate and support each other's professional growth. When one partner's career is treated as secondary, it can lead to resentment and an imbalance of power. Validate Her Ambition: Acknowledge that her career goals are just as significant as your own. Shared Responsibility: Managing the kitchen or household shouldn't diminish the value of her professional work. Active Support: Don't just "allow" her to work—actively celebrate her wins and support her growth. "Just say yes. We’ll figure it out later." Those were Adam's words to me 9 months ago. I’d just been accepted to speak at a 4-day conference in Oklahoma — on the exact week of our wedding anniversary. An incredible opportunity. One problem: We were rebuilding from zero. Our savings were gone. I had no idea how I’d even get to the U.S. But Adam kept saying it — “Just go for it. We’ll figure it out.” It was an act of pure belief when my own was running low. So I said yes… trusting the process without knowing the outcome. For months, I wasn’t sure it would happen. Then January came — and it hit me: We’re actually doing this. I’m going to Oklahoma. That single yes created a ripple effect ⚡ It pushed me to turn my SPEAK framework into an app - from idea to reality. It opened doors and opportunities we couldn’t have seen back then. This week, we celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary early 💍 Because on the actual day — I’ll be on stage in Oklahoma, speaking to women in business. But his belief was the real gift. ❤️ A reminder: The best support isn’t always tangible — it’s the belief someone has in you when you can’t see the path forward. You don’t need the full plan — just the next aligned yes. So, what’s one “yes” that could change everything for you? 💭 #WomenInBusiness #CoupleGoals #PersonalGrowth #SPEAKtobeseen #believe

❌Truth: I always put my college degrees and NP profession on a pedestal. I wasn’t just proud of it, but I definitely had an ego about it… as if nothing better existed out there. So when my then boyfriend (now husband) told me he got started working with our company, I just didn’t understand. And quite honestly, I was a HUGE JERK to him for an entire year about it. How he pushed past my constant negativity and unsupportive behavior is still beyond me, but I am so grateful he did. 🙏🏻 This business has designed a life for us that we never would’ve had if I stayed in my career. And the best part is we get to do it together ❤️ 🔥Here are 5 Reasons why I believe my husband and I work so well as partners in business: 1️⃣ Clear roles We each have our own lane to run in. We discovered our strengths and we play to them. 💪🏻 (And we stay out of each other’s lanes. 😬) 2️⃣ Trust over control We don’t micromanage. We trust each other to execute. 🫱🏻‍🫲🏼 3️⃣ Protect the marriage from business friction We never question or criticize each other, even if we feel it might be constructive. If any coaching or feedback is needed, we go directly to our Coach. We never try to coach each other. 🔑 4️⃣ Shared vision We operate from the same vision, goals, and values. Clarity keeps us aligned. 📈 5️⃣ Competitive, but united As former high-level athletes, we’re both extremely competitive… but we compete together, not against each other. Because we share that drive, it never feels like one of us has to motivate the other to keep up or want more. 🏆 At the end of the day, it’s faith first, marriage & family second, and business third. So thankful to have a husband and partner that I can lean on and run with. It makes life so sweet. 🫶🏻 #spousesinbusiness #lifebydesign #careerpivot #finance #marriage

Here’s a question most career advice ignores: who did you marry? Research shows your partner’s discipline and dependability quietly shape your success by reducing mental load and creating a stable base to perform from. Choose wisely, and just as important, be that person because who you love can shape how far you go. Inspired by @profgalloway

If you identify as a high achiever, there’s a pattern we see all the time. Your "busy" and your relationship has been "deprioritised". As a result you feel "dissatisfied in your marriage". You’re successful externally. Driven. Capable. Building a great life. But internally, your marriage often feels flat, distant, or disconnected. And it’s not because you’re doing something wrong. It’s because of your priority system. For most high achievers it looks like this: Work first. Everything else later. And over time, you end up at the bottom of the list. Your relationship sits even lower. So by the time you get home, there’s nothing left to give. You function well as team mates. You run the household. You manage life. But the connection fades. Here’s the shift we teach high-achieving couples: You come first. Not selfishly. Intentionally. Think of yourself like a battery. When you run at zero, everything else suffers. Your marriage comes second. Because it’s the foundation of your life. You wouldn’t build a house on sand. And you can’t build a fulfilling life on a disconnected relationship. You already know this truth:You don’t get what you want. You get what you prioritise. When you rearrange your priorities this way, you don’t lose success. You finally get to enjoy it together.
