IAThe Principle of Polarity in The Kybalion describes all states as existing on a continuum. No pole is reached by leaping from the opposite. Movement occurs through graduated transition, one degree at a time, along the same axis. Neville Goddardโs ladder technique is the practical translation of this principle into subconscious imprinting.
One coach described the experience of attempting a large identity jump: โI tried to assume a multi-six-figure identity and felt immediate shame activation. My body rejected it within seconds. It didnโt feel like a stretch. It felt like a lie.โ
Polyvagal theory describes this in structural terms through the concept of the window of tolerance. Every nervous system has a range of states it can inhabit without activating threat circuitry.
A new identity assumption that falls outside that window is processed not as an expanded self but as a foreign signal, and the subconscious responds with rejection mechanisms that look, from the outside, like self-sabotage.
The ladder is the correction: each assumed state is held only until the body settles into it. Until the nervous system treats it as neutral.
Only then does the next rung become available, because only then is the next state inside the window.
The practitioners who plateau in manifestation work are rarely lacking in desire or technique. They have exceeded their nervous systemโs current bandwidth and interpreted the rejection signal as a sign they are doing something wrong.
It was not resistance to abundance. It was the body protecting its regulated baseline.
