In this situation, you must treat the intersection like an ALL-WAY STOP. That means: • Come to a complete stop before the stop line or crosswalk • Check all directions carefully • The first vehicle to stop goes first • If two vehicles stop at the same time, the driver on the right has the right-of-way In this reel, the student wasn’t sure what to do when approaching the intersection because the signals were not working. The instructor reminded him to treat the intersection exactly like a four-way stop, which is the correct and safe procedure. Many drivers forget this rule, which leads to confusion and dangerous situations at intersections. Knowing these small rules can prevent accidents and also help you pass your road test. 🚗 Remember: If the traffic lights are not working → Slow down, stop, and treat it like an all-way stop. #drivingschool #drivinginstructor #drivingschooltoronto

In this situation, the oncoming traffic had a protected green left arrow. That means they have the right of way, fully protected. Since there is only one receiving lane, both vehicles would be turning into the same lane. Even if it wasn’t and there are two lanes to turn into be very cautious and I would recommend to wait it out during the test. If you turn right on red while they have the green arrow, you are cutting into a protected movement. That’s dangerous and an automatic fail on a road test. Rule to remember: If oncoming traffic has a green left arrow and there’s only one lane to turn into, you wait. No assumptions. No racing the turn. Smart drivers read the whole intersection not just their own light. #drivingschool #drivinginstructor #drivingschooltoronto

Using hatched markings and right-turn filter lanes helps keep traffic flowing smoothly by allowing vehicles turning right to move out of the main lane. This reduces congestion, prevents sudden stops, and makes the road safer for both turning drivers and through traffic. #drivinglessons #hull #congestión

Rushing a right turn through a crosswalk is one of the most common beginner mistakes and one of the easiest ways to fail a road test. Right turns aren’t just about traffic gaps they’re about pedestrian priority as well. In this clip, the student attempted to turn right while pedestrians were still in the crosswalk. I had to brake and step in. Here’s the rule we teach at Little Tibet Driving School: If a pedestrian is walking towards you, you wait until they are fully across and completely out of your path. If a pedestrian is walking away from you, you may proceed only after they’ve safely crossed halfway and you have a clear, controlled path to complete the turn. A green light does NOT cancel pedestrian right-of-way. Crosswalk safety is non-negotiable. New drivers must build the habit of scanning both sides of the crosswalk before turning. Patience here prevents collisions, tickets, and automatic road test failures. Pedestrians first. Always. #drivingschool #drivinginstructor #drivingschooltoronto

No flashing lights. Still a FULL stop. 🚸 At pedestrian crossovers, you must come to a complete stop and wait until pedestrians have crossed all the way to the other side. This is different from turning at traffic lights, where you may proceed once pedestrians have cleared your half of the roadway and it’s safe. Crossovers = full clearance. No rolling. No inching forward. No guessing. One impatient move can cost a life. Stop fully. Wait completely. #drivingschool #drivinginstructor #drivingschooltoronto
