follow along this week as I share the best spots to beat the heat in AZ over spring break! 🥵💯💦 if you’re looking for a quieter alternative to Slide Rock, definitely check out this less crowded, family friendly Sedona swimming hole ⬇️ 📍Midgley Bridge located just 5 minutes north of Sedona along 89A, this is a great family friendly swimming hole. to reach the creek, you’ll follow the Huckaby trail for half a mile. this spot is unique in that it has picturesque red rock “beaches,” perfect for sunbathing and hanging out. there are also a couple bigger pools for swimming and a natural rock water slide that’s great for sliding or tubing down. parking at the bridge is extremely limited, so arrive early. you’ll need a $5 Red Rock Pass to park anywhere in this area. you can purchase one from the kiosk located in the parking lot. this spot is dog friendly. there is a vault toilet in the parking lot. remember to leave it better than you found it! save this for your next Sedona adventure! 💯 #explorearizona #sedonaarizona #springbreak #visitsedona

follow along this week as I share places to beat the heat in AZ over spring break 💦💯 it’s looking to be a warm one! first up is 📍Slide Rock State Park in Sedona rated as one of America’s top 10 best swimming holes, this beautiful park offers natural water slides, cliff jumping, and is fun for the whole family. Slide Rock State Park charges an entrance fee of $20 per vehicle on weekdays and $30 on weekends. from the parking lot, it is around a 5-10 minute walk to reach the water area. be cautious as some spots are slippery and it’s easy to loose your footing. dogs aren’t allowed near the water area. there are restrooms available on site and also a little market to purchase ice cream, drinks and other snacks. it does get fairly crowded but there are still plenty of places to find a spot to sit and relax. don’t forget to bring plenty of water and sun protection, pack out your trasn and belongings ano be mindful of other visitors. have you visited this Arizona state park yet? #sliderock #sliderockstatepark #azstateparks #sedonaarizona #springbreak

looking for something fun to do over spring break in Arizona? this beautiful oasis is just 2 hours from Phoenix! follow along this week as I share places to beat the heat in AZ over spring break! 🥵💦💯 now is a great time to plan a trip to Fossil Creek! the weather warming up, plus, during the month of March you can still visit without a permit, so definitely take advantage of that. starting April 1st, you will need to obtain a permit prior to visiting. here’s how to plan a visit: 📆Fossil Creek is open year round. however, between April 1st to October 1st, an advanced reservation is required to park a vehicle in the permitted area. permits can be purchased through recreation.gov. there are no permits issued on site, and you will be turned around if you do not have one. ☀️be aware that it gets incredibly hot here during the summer months. although you can swim and cool off, you will be spending time hiking in the direct sun. make sure to bring enough water and have sun protection. 🚻there are vault toilets located in each parking lot. 🚗high clearance/4WD is not required, however the 16 mile dirt road section is very rough so use caution. 🚮while exploring this area, it is extremely important to leave no trace. pack out all trash and belongings, stick to designated recreation areas, and abide by all posted signage indicating restrictions and closures. be respectful of other visitors. let’s all do our part to appreciate AZ by keeping this area pristine! are you planning a trip to Fossil Creek this year? #fossilcreek #strawberryaz #desertoasis #arizonaadventures #arizonasbest

Cool off at the natural rock slides at Slide Rock State Park 🌊 This spot is known as one of America’s most beautiful swimming holes and it’s the perfect place to spend a hot Arizona day. After a short 10-minute walk down the stairs, you’ll reach the famous rock slides and refreshing creek water. The kids had an absolute blast sliding down the rocks and even jumping off some of the cliffs! It can definitely get busy, but there are still plenty of shaded spots along the creek to relax and enjoy the views. 💲 Park Fees • $20 per vehicle (Mon–Thurs) • $30 per vehicle (Fri–Sun, holiday Mondays & June 30–July 4) • Oct–April: $20 per vehicle • Additional people: $5 • Kids under 6 are FREE 🕗 Hours (Feb 3 – Dec 1): 8 AM – 6 PM Entry & swim area closes at 5 PM. ⚠️ Must know how to swim — there is no lifeguard on duty. The area is rocky and slippery in spots, so be careful, especially with little ones. No strollers or wheelchair access due to the terrain. Parsons Trail this trail is located in the Sycamore Canyon Wilderness. it follows along Sycamore Creek and leads to a beautiful swimming hole with cliff jumping and abundant shade. high clearance is not needed to reach the trailhead. kid + dog triendly. 2. Mormon’s Crossing located along Oak Creek near Cornville, AZ, swimming holes, a rope swing and plenty of shade make this spot a great place to cool off in the summertime. kid + dog friendly. parking is free. 3. Tonto Natural Bridge State Park two must-do hikes at this State Park are the Waterfall and Gowan trails. the park charges an entrance fee of $7 per adult and $4 per child. kids 6 and under are free. the park is open from 9am-5pm. keep in mind the trails do close one hour before the park closes. dogs are not allowed on the trails. 4. Bootlegger Picnic Area at this creekside picnic area you’ll find a fishing hole, spectacular scenery, clear water swimming holes, and picturesque hiking trails. a Red Rock Pass is required which can be purchased on site. vault toilets and trash receptacles are located in the parking lot. dog + family friendly. 5. Grasshopper Point this is a popular swimming hole that is well-shaded, and has the perfect combination of deep, clear pools and tall cliffs. a day-use fee of $12 per vehicle is required for entry. dogs are not allowed. 6. Aspen Corner located in the Coconino National Forest near Flagstaff, AZ. hike a section of the Arizona Trail or bring a hammock and relax under the shaded canopy of the trees. dog friendly. parking is free. 7.
