3 months apart. 10 pounds down. No major dieting or calorie deficit. Just managing stress, cortisol and lowering inflammation which changed my body more than any extreme workout plan ever did. Here’s what I did: 1. 8+ hours of sleep (non-negotiable). Fat loss starts with nervous system regulation. When my cortisol was high from lack of sleep, no intense workout could fix it. Prioritizing deep rest lowered inflammation and helped my body actually respond to training. 2. Warm lemon water first thing every morning. Helped with digestion, bloating, and gut health. I noticed way less “puffiness” once my digestion improved. 3. Ashwagandha daily. Supporting stress management + keeping cortisol lower made a visible difference in inflammation and water retention. 4. Pilates-style strength training 3–4x/week. Slow, controlled, full-body compound movements with lighter weights. This built lean muscle, tightened everything up, and gave me that toned look without overtraining. 5. High-protein, simple whole food meals. Minimal ingredients. Easy to make. Lower calorie but filling. Protein-focused for muscle growth + fat loss. (You don’t need complicated recipes.) 6. 10k–15k steps daily. Walking is underrated for fat loss. I break it up; cleaning, walking pad, errands, even shopping. Consistency > intensity. 7. No caffeine for at least 3 hours after waking. This helped regulate my cortisol response and kept my energy more stable (and reduced inflammation). Nothing extreme. No cutting out entire food groups. No 2-hour workouts. Just consistency, hormone balance, strength training, daily movement, and high-protein nutrition.
