The Book of Enoch tells us that 200 Angels were banished from Heaven for taking Earthly women as wives. There are 190 confirmed craters around our planet. With no rock debris and look as though they were caused by a direct impact from above at a perfect vertical angle. Where are the other ten craters? The oceans hide them. #fyp #reels #trending #bible #enoch #craters #foryoupage

South Pole shadows 🌒 At the Moon's North and South Poles, the Sun is never more than 1.5° above or below the horizon. The resulting pattern of daylight and shadows is unlike anywhere else on the Moon — or the Earth. After zooming in on a small lunar highland area near the South Pole, this visualization recreates the illumination conditions there over a period of two lunar days, equal to two months on Earth. This visualization was created from data gathered by the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter spacecraft. This close to the pole, the Sun doesn't rise and set. Instead, as the Moon rotates on its axis, the Sun skims the horizon, traveling a full 360° around the terrain. Mountains as far as 75 miles (120 kilometers) away cast shadows across the landscape. With the Sun at such a low angle, it can never reach the floors of some deep craters. Permanently shadowed regions are some of the locations of some of the coldest spots in the solar system, and because of that, they trap volatile chemicals, including water ice, that would immediately sublimate (transform directly from a solid to a gas) in the harsh, airless sunshine that falls in most other places on the Moon. Have you ever wondered why the Moon is covered in holes? 🌕 In this video, you’ll see how a massive space rock collides at 72,000 km/h. Unlike Earth, the Moon has no air or wind to erase the impact—so every strike leaves a permanent scar #Moon #Space #Astronomy #Craters #SpaceFacts

Part 2 of our look at the earliest photos of the planets versus today's best shots. Here we cover Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. From grainy pics sent back by NASA's 1960s Mariner probes to the latest from Webb Telescope, our views of the planets have vastly improved over time. The Chicxulub asteroid struck Earth about 66 million years ago, near today’s Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico. It was roughly 10–15 km wide and created a massive 180 km–wide crater. The impact released energy equivalent to billions of nuclear bombs, instantly devastating the surrounding region. The collision triggered global fires, earthquakes, and enormous tsunamis, while vaporized rock and sulfur spread into the atmosphere. This debris blocked sunlight for months or years, causing a dramatic drop in temperatures known as an impact winter, which severely disrupted photosynthesis and climate worldwide. These effects led to the Cretaceous–Paleogene (K–Pg) mass extinction, wiping out about 75% of all species on Earth, including all non-avian dinosaurs. With dinosaurs gone, mammals rapidly diversified, ultimately paving the way for modern ecosystems and human evolution. Chapter 3 — Earth: The Control Experiment We drop in over a banded blue world and skim the Atlantic gyres, trade winds herding cloud streets while the Mid-Ocean Ridge stitches fresh basalt a few centimeters a year. We bank to a trench where ocean crust dives and volcano arcs spark, earthquakes ticking the seam. Rivers write green cursive across floodplains into deltas; deserts lift dust that seeds faraway plankton; forests turn light into sugar and weather into rain. In the sky, Hadley cells breathe heat poleward, jets braid storm tracks, and El Niño sloshes warmth east, moving fisheries and monsoons. Beneath, plates drift over a viscous mantle; the carbonate–silicate cycle keeps climate on a long leash; thermohaline currents ferry salt and memory through the deep. Night brings aurora where the geodynamo funnels particles into oxygen’s glow; ice shelves crack like thunder and stack their ledgers in layers. Granite shields, rifts, sutures—continents are mosaics welded by time; coastlines are fresh ink. Lightning lattices a storm wall, tides pulse reefs, and a quiet ridge adds another millimeter to a planet never still. Earth isn’t background—it’s a conversation: rock, water, air, and life answering one another in cycles you can trace with your eye and feel in your chest. #earth #astronomy #space #spaceexploration #astrophysics #solarsystem #science #documentary #planetaryscience #astrology #cosmos #physics #einstein #generalrelativity #nasa #messenger #exosphere #magnetosphere #craters #hollows #regolith #polarice #spacetok #learnontiktok #mobilefirst

🌑🗻️ Moon Crater Hid Its Own Mountain Range An LRO image shows Plaskett crater's central peaks rising more than 6,500 feet above the shadowed floor, so the crater looks like a mountain range dropped inside another landscape. The shock is geometric rather than decorative, because the tallest features are in the middle of the impact basin instead of along the rim where your eye expects them. That matters because large lunar craters do not simply blast holes and stop, they rebound, terrace, and lift deeper crust back upward after the strike. Plaskett is a clean example of that physics, with low Sun shadows turning the central massif and stepped walls into readable evidence of violent surface deformation. The oddly specific scale is what locks the frame in, since about 2,000 meters of relief is enough to make the crater interior feel like a separate mountain district. Those central peaks can also expose material from deeper below the surface, which means one crater can reveal rock history the surrounding plains keep buried. The Moon often reads as quiet gray dust until lighting catches topography this way and reminds you how much of its crust was reshaped by gigantic collisions. One stark orbital view turns Plaskett from a crater name into a lesson in rebound, excavation, and mountain-building without plate tectonics. • An asteroid was “captured” #crashing into the Moon's surface. Unlike #Earth, the Moon has no #atmosphere to protect it, so every asteroid strikes at full speed, carving out #deep #craters that remain for billions of years. • #Nasa #Space #astronomy • • • 🎶 @hanszimmer • Mountains

Diamond Head Crater from above, Hawaii! 😳 Diamond Head is a volcanic tuff cone on the Hawaiian island. It is part of the system of cones, vents, and their associated eruption flows that are collectively known to geologists as the Honolulu Volcanic Series, eruptions from the Koʻolau Volcano that took place long after the volcano formed and had gone dormant. These eruptive events created many of Oʻahu's well-known landmarks, including Punchbowl Crater, Hanauma Bay, Koko Head, and Mānana Island in addition to Diamond Head. Diamond Head, like the rest of the Honolulu Volcanic Series, is much younger than the main mass of the Koʻolau Mountain Range. 📷 @sharonmoryosef Follow for more space content @astrotaner 🚀 @astrorhun 🔭
