PLHot Honey Crispy Shrimp 🍤
Ingredients
Shrimp
1 lb peeled and deveined shrimp (pat completely dry)
Seasoning
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
½ tsp garlic powder
Wet
1 egg
Coating
½ cup cornstarch
¼ cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp paprika
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp salt
For frying
Oil (for frying)
Hot Honey Sauce
3–4 tbsp honey (or hot honey)
1 tbsp butter
1–2 tsp hot sauce (adjust to taste)
½ tsp cayenne (optional)
½ tsp smoked paprika
Instructions
Season the shrimp with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Add the egg and mix until evenly coated and slightly sticky.
In another bowl, combine cornstarch, flour, paprika, garlic powder, and salt. Dredge each shrimp in the mixture, pressing lightly to create a textured coating.
Heat oil over medium heat. Fry the shrimp in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden, crispy, and cooked through. Do not overcrowd the pan. Remove and set aside.
In a pan, melt butter and add honey, hot sauce, cayenne, and smoked paprika. Let it bubble gently until smooth and glossy.
Lightly toss the crispy shrimp in the sauce or drizzle over the top to keep that crunch.
Finish with chili flakes and parsley if you like.
