Try this to build the strength to jump into Bakasana. 1. Learn your back and practice a front body squeeze by bringing the knees up into the triceps. Open and close a few times while keeping the lower back on the ground 2. Shorten the distance and practice getting up into Bakasana quickly a few times. Then go for a little jump and catch your weight in your shoulders. 3. Place a bolster or large pillow out in front and practice going too far forward. Get over the fear by creating safety. 4. Try from downward dog. Instead of jumping up jump forward and prepare to catch your body weight and the strength of your shoulders. 5. Try slowing the movement down by catching the balance for a moment and consciously activating that front body squeeze to gently lower your torso onto the shoulders. 6. Avoid flailing the body way around without understanding the key principles of weight transference. Donโ€™t be afraid of going forward enough. Find the pathway to safely bring the weight onto the shoulders.
