EMI’m not going to lie, the past few days have been really hard. Even 5 months postpartum and I am emotional all the time over a birth that I didn’t get to have. I had an unexpected c-section after laboring all day because our little one was larger than most. 🫶🏼 Our baby is so healthy and we have so much to be thankful for, but I am reminded daily when looking at my scar, of the trauma we went through. As c-section mamas we often feel the need to be stronger on the outside and mask our feelings and pain. I’m not sure why that is considering we just endured a major surgery while wide awake. But I just want other moms to know that it’s ok to grieve the birth you had hoped and longed for. This past week I have been more tired physically and emotionally than I have been in the past year. Sometimes I don’t even recognize myself if I’m honest. But even through all of that emotion and pain, I’m shown through this little child of the goodness that God has for us. His plan is better than anything we could have imagined. We are allowed to grieve, but let this also be a reminder to take that grief and turn it into something positive. Better yourself and become stronger than you ever thought you could.
