LOStudents in the culinary arts program at Rockland BOCES Career and Technical Education Center (CTECH) recently did prep, baking and cooking during the day and transformed a lunchroom at the school into a restaurant at night.
The Taste of the South pop-up restaurant was held Oct. 24 at Rockland BOCES Culinary Arts in West Nyack, NY. The public was invited to the southern soul food-themed restaurant, the first Rockland BOCES CTEC Culinary Arts Restaurant Night of the 2023-24 academic year.
The students did all the different restaurant jobs — cooking, waiting, bartending (no alcohol) and lots of organizing — under the instruction of Chef Kendell Brenner.
