Other things I would choose again: 9. Salt water - makes a huge difference on your skin and hair (no chlorine smell) 10. Pebblefina finish - one of the smoothest PebbleTec finishes 11. Sport pool - ends are shallow and middle is deep (allows for playing pool sports and let’s be real, most people end up hanging out in the shallow end) 12. Now you’re dealing with: • Deck settling • Water sitting against the foundation • Retaining wall pressure • Coping separation Fixing grading after installation? That’s where five-figure repairs start. ❌ Mistake 2: Poor structural base under the patio A patio isn’t decorative. It’s structural. If the base isn’t excavated deep enough, compacted correctly, and built for your specific soil conditions (hello Tennessee clay), you’ll see: • Pavers shifting • Trip hazards • Cracks within a few seasons • Edges pulling away from the pool No one talks about the base — until it fails. ❌ Mistake 3: Not planning utilities before hardscape Gas. Electrical. Drainage. Irrigation. Future outdoor kitchen. If those aren’t mapped and roughed in before installation, you end up: • Cutting into finished work • Re-running trench lines • Paying twice for labor That’s not a $2,000 oversight.
