Signs include: carbs, tears, questioning every ounce of her existence, and convincing herself she gained 10 pounds overnight 🥰😍💖 Before cycle syncing I thought that I was crazy when each month I’d have an absolute crash out about a week before my period. I felt like something was wrong with me for being on TOP of the world one day - trusting myself. My life. My path. Feeling good in my skin. Confident. Energized. Worthy. - only for to come crashing down a few days later and instead, feel like the world was on top of ME as I was being crushed underneath it. Emotional. Fatigued. Lack of motivation and desire. Until one day I learned the ins and outs of my menstrual cycle and realized — I’m not crazy. Nothing is wrong with me. I’m just a cyclical being. It changed my entire relationship with myself. My emotions. My body. And honestly, the way I live my life. Each phase of our cycle mirrors a season in nature. Our luteal (right before our bleed) is our inner autumn. Cycle syncing is not meant to be a strict guide or another wellness rule to follow - but a permission slip to LISTENNN to your body. Your emotions. Your energy. Once hot summer days turn to cooler fall ones - what do you crave in terms of food, socializing, movement, lifestyle?? Again, it’s not a set of rules. It’s a permission slip. If your body is calling you deeply inwards, telling you to slow down, begging for you to feel our emotions, move less, fuel more — welcome to your inner autumn. You’re not lazy, crazy, or wrong. You’re cyclical, baby!!!!!! HONOR IT.

✨PMDD, Cycle Syncing, & How To Understand Your Hormones To Transform Your Health✨ on this week’s episode of the liz moody podcast actress @ashleygreene and her @ourhummingway cofounder @livkhoury get open and raw about their own hormone stories, including ashley’s anxiety (including a scary behind the scenes story from her twilight days) and pre- and post-baby journeys and olivia’s PMDD. they both share what’s helped them the most, their advice for other women in the same position, and, importantly, they create a safe space to begin to shout this conversation from the rooftops. the tabooness about these topics is making so many women suffer unnecessarily, and i’m so appreciative of olivia’s and ashley’s honesty and vulnerability. comment HORMONES below and i’ll DM you the episode — can’t wait to hear what you think!! #hormones #hormonehealth #cyclesyncing #PMDD

In this insightful episode, Melissa sits down with Alisa Vitti, who shares her transformative journey following a hormonal collapse at a young age that shaped her future. Alisa emphasizes the complexity and necessity of understanding women’s cycles and hormones for overall well-being. Her trademark concept, Cycle Syncing, has become a lifestyle for many women, guiding their daily health routines through the four phases: menstruation, follicular, ovulation, and luteal. They discuss the importance of protecting our circadian rhythm to maintain our biological clocks, suggesting simple practices like getting morning sunlight and avoiding phone screens before bed. Alisa explains how aligning our diet, exercise, and work schedules with our cycle phases helps us feel our best. She advocates for going within and letting our bodies dictate our natural state of being, avoiding plastics, and using fragrance-free products. This episode highlights the crucial importance of women being in tune with their cycles for optimal health. We’re so excited for you to tune into this episode! Check back every week for new episodes! Luteal phase is worse than being on your period fr 😩Comment “recipe” for the full written recipe, I’m sending this one out today on my newsletter 🗞️ Cycle syncing isn’t restrictive—it’s intuitive! Your luteal phase (post-ovulation) thrives on complex carbs and B vitamins to support progesterone and stabilize mood, and this nourishing comfort dish delivers exactly that. Here’s how I make it taste amazing while honoring what my body actually needs 🙌

🙋‍♀️I wish I had known earlier that so much of my hormones being out of balance was down to too much stress. If we don’t get our cortisol levels under control then no amount of cycle syncing, healthy nutrition, blood sugar balance or movement is going to work to balance our hormones. 🙏 Let’s face it modern life is full of stressors so we need to purposefully add some daily practices to bring our bodies out of constant doing/stress mode and back into the parasympathetic (rest and digest) nervous system. ❤️Incorporating some of the below practices to regulate our nervous system will do our body wonders 1. Cold exposure -jumping into the sea or cold plunge may not be realistic but even holding an ice cube in your palm, stepping out into cold air without a coat, or just taking your jumper off to get your body slightly cooler will work 2. Singing/humming - when you use the muscles in the back of your throat it activates the vagus nerve so for example if you’re cooking at home and kids are going crazy in the background and you’re stressed, try humming or singing gently while cooking and it will bring your body back to parasympathetic 3. Movement - no surprises here! Getting the body moving is a great way to de-stress 4. Limiting screen time- The constant streams of information coming through devices can raise cortisol so consciously putting away the screens when possible will help our nervous system. I love to practice “sky before screen” so I make sure to go outside and look at the sky before looking at any screen in the morning. 5. Self-massage- this and face yoga is a really nice way in the evenings to bring our body back to parasympathetic nervous system after a hectic day. 6. Deep slow breathing activates our vagus nerve so stop and do this when you’re stressed and feel your body come out of fight or flight This is one of the foundations for hormone balance that we work on in my 12 week Hormone Hero programme, the next programme kicks off on Monday 11th March 🙌 DM me if you want more info ❤️ #hormonebalance #nutritionforhormonebalance #hormonehealth #womenshealth

IN FOR 2024: Cycle syncing 🩸 What is it? And how to get started 👇 🔎These are some related queries you’ll find when exploring cycle syncing, but first things first - cycle syncing is all about adapting your dietary, exercise, and lifestyle routine to align with the stages of your menstrual cycle. 🏃‍♀️With movement - this can range from adjusting the intensity of your workouts as you move through your cycle to selecting exercises that match each phase. By paying attention to your menstrual cycle, you can discover how your body reacts to physical activity during each stage and learn more about your overall health. This awareness allows you to identify when to challenge your body and when to prioritise rest and recovery, ultimately enhancing the effectiveness of your efforts. 🤳To get started with tracking - you might already have a tracker on your phone or there are some useful apps to help with this @clueapp @flotracker @oviahealth @tempdrop @naturalcycles @avawomen Are you cycle syncing 👇 Let us know how you’re getting on ❤️
