I really wish this wasn’t the case. I genuinely wish i didn’t have to get up so early to get my training in….But I do. And so do you 😅 We as Dads need to optimise our time, most of us have too much complexity and curveballs going on in our lives to train in the evening. These are the 3 things that will happen when we tell ourselves “I’ll do it later” 👇 - You’ll find other “more important” things to do and you’ll convince yourself that today is not the day. - It becomes a stress, it occupies space in your mind knowing you need to find the time to get the session in. - Your arse will hit the sofa after work and once the kids are in bed and that’s it, game over. You’re not training today! So the solution is simple. Yet most of us ignore because it seems too difficult. Get up early… Do it early. If you can force it and then settle into the routine you’ll soon notice that your compliance rates go up (Which we all know is the single most important part of any health and fitness journey). You’ll also feel empowered and more productive at work and in life. Morning training will destress you and give you all the energy you need to tackle the day. Now, what we need to address is this 👇 If you’re going to do this morning training you need to revisit your bedtime routine and how you manage your training! Here are some pointers 👇 - No more rubbish TV or doom scrolling before bed - Still aim for 7 hours sleep, so get to bed earlier. - Get your training clothes ready to go in the evening before. - Drink 1 litre of water 5 minutes after you wake. - Have a routine and a plan so you don’t need to make something up when you’re tired. - Win the first battle of the day. Learn to embrace the hardship of getting up when you don’t want to. So get after it gents. Give this a go and let me know how you get on. I have found that Dad Hours are necessary to be the best dad and husband I can be. Those dark and quiet hours from 4:30 AM to around 6:00 AM are what help me to be the most effective I can be from 6:00 AM to 8:30 PM. During this time, I can train my mind, my body or both. Then, I will be ready both physically and mentally for whatever comes my way throughout the rest of the day. I owe it to myself and more importantly I owe it to my family to invest in this time wisely because they deserve me at my best. Fathers want to have impact, to be able provide, and to help their families feel safe. This is the way. I challenge YOU to devote your time in the dark hours of the morning to becoming the best version of yourself for you and your family.
