Data centres power everything — from UPI transactions and streaming to AI models and cloud storage. But this digital backbone also consumes massive electricity, water, and land.

• A single large data centre can consume power equal to 80,000+ homes
• AI servers now require 3–5x more energy than traditional servers
• Global data centres already consume hundreds of terawatt-hours of electricity every year
As India rapidly expands its digital economy, the real question is:
Can we scale digital infrastructure sustainably?
