ROGoogle has partnered with Italian energy storage company Energy Dome to deploy CO2 Battery technology for powering data centers with long-duration clean energy.
The system compresses carbon dioxide into liquid using excess renewable energy, then releases it as pressurized gas to spin turbines for 8-24 hours of electricity generation.
This addresses a critical gap since current lithium-ion batteries only store power for four hours, while AI data centers require constant reliable energy.
Energy Dome’s technology has operated in Italy for three years, with a 20MW commercial plant already operational.
The partnership aims to enable 24/7 carbon-free data center operations by 2030.

This time I pushed my Mac to the limit and successfully reached 25Gbps upload & download speeds! Previously, I had done a similar test on my server, but now it’s running perfectly on macOS too.
I connected an SFP28 network card via a PCIe-to-Thunderbolt 4 adapter — and the Mac recognized it instantly, no drivers needed!
