MIWhat is DECA?
DECA is an international organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. With more than 300,000 members eligible to compete across high schools and colleges worldwide, it’s where students put their business skills to the test through competitive events that mirror real-world challenges.
This year, I had the honor of representing Minnesota at the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) where I placed in the Top 10 in the world. That accomplishment reflects not only hours of preparation but also my passion for creativity, strategy, and leadership.
For me, DECA isn’t just about competition; it’s about the confidence it builds, the connections it fosters, and the way it proves that young people can step into big roles today, not just “someday.”
I’m so grateful for the mentors, teammates, and experiences that shaped this journey, and I can’t wait to carry these skills with me as I prepare to represent Minnesota at Miss Teen USA.
