She wrote one of my favorite books ‘woman and point zero’ plus numerous books on the subject of women in Islam, patriarchy, class, and colonialism.

MADecolonize your language and demand everyone else does too. Israel, the US and all western colonial countries are deeply invested in dehumanized indigenous people. Language matters! Until liberation!
Israeli still holds and tortures over 9,000 Palestinian hostages! Also did you know Israel told hostages and their families if they celebrated, they’d be abducted again immediately? The “only democracy in the Arab world” couldn’t bear to allow the world to see the truth, the bodies they have tortured and the lives they have destroyed!!! They couldn’t bear to let you see that Hommos took care of the hostages and were humane and civil. God forbid we humanize the enemy and see the occupied and resistance as righteous!

DRBeloved therapists, I pray that not only do you honor your ethical duty to decolonize your practice but that you also reclaim your dignity and your integrity from the colonial capitalist patriarchy.
Because the truth is that the same colonial paradigm that colonized the people COLONIZED YOU TOO.
It's time to unlearn the ways you've been taught to be complicit in an oppressive system & to harm yourself & your medicine too.
What I deeply know is what we don't have to throw it all away...we can decolonize & honor the relational ways that help us remember and offer true healing.
This is the type of training & guidance I provide for students in A New Paradigm of Care, a 4 month mentorship program for therapists.
& this along with YOUR skills & field experience in therapy can help so many of the people in our communities.
We need MORE therapists investing in decolonizing their practice to be skilled to offer this type of healing to the people.
