That decomposing, makeup-smeared right hand proves DAILY that this beast is not a miraculous healer. The ear looks untouched because it was untouched. Argue with yo' mama.

This is a McDonald’s hamburger that’s over 20 years old. It hasn’t rotted. It hasn’t grown mould. It barely smells like food at all. If anything, the paper packaging degraded more than the burger. Food that can be left for decades without decomposing isn’t real food. It’s an industrial product engineered for shelf stability, not biology. Real food breaks down because bacteria recognise it as food. It feeds microbes. It returns to the environment. This doesn’t. McDonald’s relies on: Highly processed ingredients Refined seed oils Preservatives and stabilisers Low moisture content Ultra-refined carbohydrates The result is something that looks like food but behaves like cardboard. Eating this regularly doesn’t usually cause immediate damage. The effects are slower and cumulative. Over time, diets built on ultra-processed foods are linked to: Chronic inflammation Insulin resistance Gut microbiome disruption Hormonal dysregulation Obesity and metabolic disease This isn’t about fear. It’s about recognising the difference between nourishment and engineered calories. If it doesn’t rot, feed bacteria, or return to the soil, you should question whether it belongs in your body. Food should nourish you. Not outlast you.

This is terrifying proof of how dangerous sewer gas is. 🧨 A kid in China dropped a lit firecracker into a manhole, unaware it was filled with methane biogas from decomposing waste. The confined space turned into a combustion chamber instantly. The pressure spike was so violent it blew the pavement apart and tossed a parked SUV like it was made of cardboard. That is $40k of damage from a 50-cent spark. — — — — — Who is paying for the car damages here? 💬 Follow for more Technology updates Video: Rainmaker1973

I love keyhole raised beds. Having your compost heap in the middle of the raised bed is such a great idea. The material used to make the compost structure needs to be permeable so that the decomposing compost material can gradually leach out into the soil. This reduces the need to fertilise and water your plants as it’s constantly fed with organic nutrients from the compost. The worms will also move in and out of the central compost, helping to relocate the organic composting material and nutrients. I used willow withies (the bendy sticks) to weave the shape of my keyhole bed. And I cut the uprights from a hazel bush that I was coppicing. If using willow, just be careful it doesn’t root. It roots very easily when fresh and if it comes into contact with soil. Wait a while so that the willow isn’t fresh before weaving it, if it’s going to come in contact with soil. Then it shouldn’t root. Hazel is far less likely to root.

This isn’t some supernatural mystery — it’s a multi-billion-dollar energy resource literally burning into the air. 🔥🇧🇩 What you’re seeing is a natural gas seep along a beach in Bangladesh. Far beneath the surface, decomposing organic matter produces methane gas. Under extreme underground pressure, the gas travels through cracks in the earth and escapes upward. The steady blue flame is a clear sign of nearly pure methane burning with high efficiency. For more than 70 years, this place, often called “Fire Hill,” has burned nonstop. While the sight is visually mesmerizing, it also represents a massive loss of usable energy. Extracting and storing the gas would require major infrastructure and investment, so for now, it remains a natural spectacle rather than a national resource. It’s a powerful reminder that some of Earth’s most valuable treasures aren’t hidden — they’re right in front of us, slowly disappearing while waiting to be harnessed. Love science? And somehow, that day finally arrived ❤️ Today, Ceravee is living the life she once could only dream of. When we found Ceravee, she was in a desperate condition. Half her leg had been chopped off, leaving a severely infected, decomposing wound. Our rescue team rushed her to the Soi Dog hospital, where she received the care she urgently needed. Day after day, she kept fighting, showing us a will to live that never faded. Today, Ceravee’s world has completely changed. She now lives in Scotland with a loving family and spends her days playing and cuddling with her furry brothers and sisters. The dream she once held onto so tightly is now the life she wakes up to every day 🥹 Her journey is nothing short of a miracle and a powerful example of resilience. From unimaginable suffering to a life filled with love, she has finally found the happiness she always deserved!

What are these shifting green patches drifting across the water? This timelapse reveals the dynamic cycle of algal blooms in Hartbeespoort, South Africa from June 2022 to July 2023. These blooms can form when nutrient-rich runoff from agriculture meets warm temperatures and sunlight. As they die off, decomposing algae consume oxygen, creating conditions that threaten aquatic life and contaminate water supplies. Satellite data helps scientists track these blooms from space, providing early warnings about water quality changes. These images are from the Harmonized Landsat Sentinel-2 dataset, which leverages imagery from both the @nasa / @usgs Landsat satellites and @europeanspaceagency Sentinel-2 satellites. #Earth #NASA #AlgaeBloom #Water #Science Video description: Timelapse of satellite images centered on the Hartbeespoort reservoir in South Africa. The Krokodilrivier (Crocodile River) flows through the Hartbeespoort Dam and into the reservoir from above. As the video plays, bright green patches of algae form, covering parts of the reservoir. The surrounding landscape is mostly brown with some areas of agriculture and urbanization.
