This 2017 Chevy 3500 came in with a fuel leak — and that’s not something you ignore. We removed components and did a thorough inspection to make sure everything was addressed properly. When it comes to fuel systems, safety is always the priority. Routine maintenance isn’t just about performance — it’s about keeping you safe on the road. If something feels off, smells different, or looks unusual, get it checked. #VehicleSafety #FuelSystem #PreventativeMaintenance #TruckRepair #DriveSafe

Learn how to properly replace your differential fluid yourself! This is something that should be done every 50k miles or 20k miles if you tow a lot. In this case I’m using a cut gasket, not RTV so I share some tips on using that. 1. Unscrew fill plug first so you know you can refill the diff after you drain it. 2. Remove the diff bolts and drain the diff. 3. Clean the old gasket off the diff cover and diff case. 4. Add gasket (if cut gasket use Permatex Cut Gasket Sealant. 5. Install diff cover with gasket. 6. Torque diff cover bolts in criss cross patten 7. Add gear oil until it spills out of the fill hole 8. Tighten fill plug so it’s snug #ChrisFix #PermatexPartner #Differential #DIY

How to change the water pump on a 2010 F150. Here are concise step-by-step instructions for replacing the water pump on a 2010 Ford F-150 (most common on the 4.6L or 5.4L V8 engines; 3.5L EcoBoost was introduced later in some trims but is rarer—confirm your engine). Safety first — Work on a cold engine to avoid burns. Wear gloves/eye protection. Catch drained coolant properly (toxic). Tools needed: 10mm socket. 3/8 tool for the tensioner. Hammer. Pry bar. Drain coolant — Open radiator petcock/drain plug (lower passenger side) and block drains if present. Remove radiator cap to speed flow. Or just take off water pump and catch watch comes out. (I prefer this method) Remove serpentine belt — Use breaker bar or tool on tensioner pulley (clockwise on most to release). Route belt off alternator, etc. Remove fan shroud and electric fan (if equipped) or clutch fan (use large wrench/fan tool to loosen nut—reverse threads on some). Remove water pump pulley — Loosen/remove 4 bolts (usually 10mm). Remove water pump — Unbolt water pump from timing cover. Pry gently if stuck (avoid damaging sealing surface). Clean mating surface thoroughly — Remove old gasket material. No scratches on aluminum. Install new water pump — Use new gasket/O-ring. Install and torque bolts in crisscross pattern (typically 18-89 in-lbs or ~8-10 ft-lbs—check exact spec for your engine). Reinstall water pump pulley — Torque bolts to ~18 ft-lbs. Reinstall serpentine belt — Route correctly per diagram (under hood sticker). Refill coolant — Use 50/50 mix (Motorcraft Gold or equivalent). Burp system (run engine with cap off, heater on, top off as air escapes). Check for leaks. 5.4L/4.6L jobs are similar and relatively straightforward (no timing chain cover removal needed). 😤I can’t believe @chevrolet quoted me $8,300 to fix a problem I didn’t have! ‼️COMMENT “KIT” AND I’LL SEND YOU THE HEAD GASKET TEST KIT! My truck was exhibiting some classic signs of a head gasket failure- big billowy white clouds coming from the exhaust. So I brought it into the local Chevy dealer and they just said it was a head gasket leak, and then quoted me the price of a new used truck to fix it. They didn’t clean the engine, or do this simple test. Just saw oil, and said that’s the issue. Needless to say this stressed me tf out for close to a month before I learned that they make cheap $30 test kits to test for exhaust gasses in the coolant. Which means a blown head gasket. So I did the test myself, found out my head gasket was indeed, NOT the issue. And after cleaning the engine and going for a few hard drives, I was able to clearly tell that the valve cover is leaking and oil is seeping down and made it look like a head gasket. Overall I’m very happy that this went from an expensive repair, to an easy DIY. #chevytrucks #headgasket #diy
