But as I’ve continued to teach and write books about the topic, I outgrew my love for it. I wanted to find other ways to grow as an artist and realized lettering wasn’t going to get me there. But you’ll still see me doing lettering — in journal pages, digital work, and everywhere else. I still get *kilig* seeing beautiful typography and fonts. It’s always going to be a part of me. Spent the last week or so putting together a new full sign package for our pals at @idlehandsbread. A mix of hand drawn type and digital work made with a slightly altered version of the Oliver typeface by my pal @davesmithartist. This building has been a lot of things over the years and the standalone sign has had vinyl banners wrapped over it for atleast the last 5 years so it was very cool to paint up a couple 4x8 ACM panels and clad it properly. I love projects like this and always appreciate Jay at @idlehandsbread for letting me have creative control, you can get a lot of cool stuff done when the graphic designers are outta the room. #surehandsigns #rva #signpainter #handpainted #richmondva
