Let that sink in.
The issue? The 14th Amendment — the part of the Constitution that guarantees citizenship to children born in the United States.
An executive order tried to end birthright citizenship for certain immigrants’ children. The judge ruled that a president cannot override the Constitution with a signature.
You may have strong opinions about immigration. I understand that. But this goes beyond politics.
Judges are not supposed to rule based on pressure, fear, or public opinion. They rule based on the law.
And the 14th Amendment has been part of our Constitution for more than 150 years.
If someone wants to change that, the proper path is a constitutional amendment — not threats, not intimidation, and not executive action.
We can disagree in this country. That’s democracy.

This very summer, the Supreme Court will decide whether the 14th Amendment guarantees birthright citizenship for all children born in U.S. soil. This isn't just a legal case. It's about safeguarding the rights that generations and generations of freedom fighters and our black community have sought before us. Those rights were born out of struggle, sacrifice, and all unapologetic demands of justice, where the fight for true implementation still continues to this very day.
We are fighting to protect the rights of our future generations, our families, our communities, and our people before us. We stand in collective people power with those who refuse to accept second class status. And we will continue to fight for a future where everyone who was born here can fully receive the benefits of the 14th amendment, not just on paper, but in practice, to pay their way.

ITthis administration is now drawing a line between those who were born here and those who earned their citizenship through immigration. A two-tier social class system, where one group is granted full protection and dignity, and the other is forced to prove it deserves to belong, all while being denied the full rights of citizenship. And they are doing it througah language first, because that’s how it always starts. Before the laws change, the words change. Before the rights are stripped, the categories are drawn. This is how every authoritarian government in history has begun to separate “real” citizens from the ones they plan to target next.
