“Give clothes a new chapter.”💙 I had some old house tops that had faded in colour and had bleach and other old stains on. So rather than throwing them away i decided to give them a new lease of life by using @dylon_uki fabric dye in the shade Jeans Blue. But before I did this I bleached the clothes first 👖 I’m really impressed with the result. There are lots of colours in the Dylon range to choose from so if blue isn’t your thing then you’ve got other options 💙 There was just one jumper that didn’t cover fully but that had paint stains on. I always use @dylon_uk machine dyes, I bought mine from @dunelmuk’s haberdashery section for £7. You simply pop it in the machine and it has everything in it to dye your fabric/clothes. Re-dying some faded & stained casual-wear using #Dylon Intense Black washing machine pods. The neon crewneck turned out a sort of forest green colour due to the intensity of the original dye but we think it looks great! Here are the steps to follow if you are thinking of trying this yourself: 1. Pre-Wash your garments 2. Pour contents of pod into the drum and spin the drum by hand to separate the dye 3. Place pre-soaked garments into the drum and do a full cotton cycle at 40c 4. Do another cycle with detergent 5. Remove garments and do a tub clean cycle (we add some white vinegar into the drum) 6. Give your garments an iron or steam and your good to go Please note this type of dye with only work on natural fabrics like cotton, wool or linen. The dye will not take to synthetic materials, resulting in the inner tags and sometimes stitching remaining their original colour.

Performing a cloth dyeing experiment in the washing machine with Dylon dye pods. I chose the color navy blue this time. The product says to use mostly natural fibers. I had some clothes that were either fully natural or contained half polyester. Also, they were all different colors. I threw in the mix of colors and fabrics to see what would happen, to take that knowledge with me for my next experiments. See, it wasn’t an error, it was just fate 👀😂 planned it all along… 🥴 It was actually SO easy to use, I used the @dylon_uki Tulip Red in wash dye - the item goes in wet, normal wash (no detergent or fabric conditioner) and then you wash one more time with detergent and it’s done! I gave the washing machine a spin without anything in to clean it and put in a wash of the kids beach towels they had used at the weekend just so we wouldn’t ruin anything and it’s been fine! Have you tried it? 10/10 recommend and I’m now wondering what else I can spruce up! #upcyclefashion #dylon #mumhacks #mumhack

Here’s a guide on how to dye your clothes to give them a new lease of life. Dylon pods are my ultimate hack to hide old stains that are so stubborn you can’t get rid of them! Below is a breakdown of what to do. 1. Pre-wash your garment. 2. Open your pod and place it inside your washing machine on top of the item of clothing you want to dye 3. Run a 40° cotton Wash 4. Take the pod out of the machine. 5. Run your item of clothing on a 40° cotton wash using laundry detergent. 6. Remove your items of clothing from the machine and leave it out to dry. For best results, I find that one pod per item of clothes works really well, but for a more diluted effect, you could do up to 3/4 items of clothes per pod.
