AUEl sensor ECT mide la temperatura del refrigerante del motor y entrega esta señal a la ECU para ajustar la mezcla aire-combustible durante el arranque. Si el ECT reporta una temperatura incorrecta —por ejemplo, indicando que el motor está caliente cuando en realidad está frío— la ECU no enriquecerá la mezcla como corresponde en frío, lo que genera dificultades al encender, arranque prolongado o incluso fallos en el primer ciclo de combustión. Un sensor ECT dañado, con resistencia alterada o conexión sulfatada, puede afectar no solo el arranque, sino también el tiempo de inyección, el ralentí y el funcionamiento del ventilador térmico.

ELSensor ECT: Engine Coolant Temperature 🌡️
Este sensor trabaja en base a un termistor, es decir, una resistencia variable térmica. Al tomar contacto con el refrigerante se transfiere la temperatura al sensor y este cambia su resistencia interna. En este cambio hay dos posibilidades que dependerán del tipo de sensor que sea;
⬆️ Sensor PTC: Positive Temperature Coeficent.
En este caso, al aumentar la temperatura aumentará también la resistencia interna del sensor
⬇️ Sensor NTC: Negative Temperature Coeficent.
En este caso, al aumentar la temperatura disminuirá la resistencia interna del sensor. Este es el más usado en la industria.

AGSensor Suhu Pendingin Mesin (Engine Coolant Temperature/ECT Sensor)
1. Fungsi Utama
Mengukur suhu cairan pendingin (air radiator) di dalam mesin dan mengirimkan data tersebut ke ECU (Engine Control Unit).
-ECU menggunakan data suhu ini untuk:
-Mengatur Campuran Bahan Bakar dan Udara: Saat mesin dingin, ECU akan memperkaya campuran (mengalirkan lebih banyak bensin) agar mesin cepat mencapai suhu kerja ideal dan tidak mati (choke function).
-Mengontrol Waktu Pengapian (Ignition Timing): Menyesuaikan waktu percikan api busi.
-Mengaktifkan Kipas Radiator: Ketika suhu mencapai batas tertentu, ECU akan memerintahkan kipas radiator menyala.
-Mengatur Idle Speed: Menjaga putaran mesin tetap stabil saat dingin atau panas.
-Menampilkan Indikator Suhu: Memberikan data ke panel instrumen (dasbor) mobil.
2. Cara Kerja
ECT Sensor bekerja sebagai Termistor NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient).
Prinsip Kerja: Sensor ini adalah resistor yang nilainya akan berkurang (hambatan rendah) ketika suhu cairan pendingin meningkat (panas). Sebaliknya, nilai hambatannya akan tinggi ketika suhu menurun (dingin).
Sinyal ke ECU: ECU mengirimkan tegangan referensi ke sensor. Perubahan hambatan pada sensor akan menyebabkan perubahan tegangan balik yang diterima ECU.
Interpretasi Data: ECU kemudian membaca perubahan tegangan ini dan menerjemahkannya menjadi nilai suhu tertentu, lalu menggunakan data tersebut untuk mengatur performa mesin.
3. Perawatan (Maintenance)
Perawatan ECT Sensor umumnya tidak memerlukan tindakan rutin, namun lebih fokus pada menjaga lingkungan kerjanya tetap baik:
Gunakan Cairan Pendingin yang Tepat (Coolant): Pastikan selalu menggunakan cairan pendingin (coolant) yang direkomendasikan dan bukan hanya air biasa. Coolant mencegah korosi, pengendapan mineral, dan memastikan pembacaan suhu yang akurat.
Cek Kebocoran: Pastikan area pemasangan sensor (termasuk O-ring atau gasket) tidak mengalami kebocoran cairan pendingin.
