Ice Skating through a forest ⛸🌲 this 3km skateline is located in Sur En, Graubünden (the farthest East I’ve been in Switzerland!). From Zürich, it’s about a 2hr drive but you do have to take a car-train along the way (this was another new experience 👌🏼), which costs 39.00 one way. Once you get there, you can rent skates on site and, especially if you don’t skate often, I’d highly recommend renting a helmet as well. The skateline is a loop with a few tiny up and down inclines that feel like huge slopes when you’re on nothing but two thin blades ;) Scenery up there is absolutely magical, and there are plenty of benches along the loop to rest and soak it all up ❄️ Skateline reopened on Dec 24th but do check the website before you go to be sure (I’ll link in Stories). Official name is Eisweg Engadin and directions are pretty easy to find on Google. Access is free but you will need to bring your own ice skates 📍 Eisweg Engadin - about 1 hour north of St Moritz on the train (to Scuol Tarasp then catch a bus to camping Sur-En) is this beautiful ice path in the trees. Entrance fee is 12 CHF for an adult, and you can hire skates for 5 CHF. Just be careful on the little hills if your still an amateur. 📍 Eisweg Madulain - Just 30 minutes north of St Moritz by train. Entrance fee is 5 CHF (you will need cash to leave in an honesty box) but you will need to bring your own ice skates! …. Ice skating in the woods? It’s a big yes! ⛸️✨🍃 📍Eisweg Engadin, Switzerland 🇨🇭 I found this random place on Instagram and by coincidence, it was 40 min from my house. I hadn’t been ice skating for years but just because I knew it was a 3km route in the middle of the forest it was already on my wishlist 😌 It is located in the Eisweg Engadin park, in Switzerland in the town of Scuol. Entry is €12 per person, and if you don’t have your own skates, you can rent them for +€5. You can stay as long as you want and the 3km path is not exactly for beginners 😅 Its a long way with up and downs, but if you don’t feel super confident skating (like me!), you have access to using a kind of ‘support’ - like you watch in the video - and a helmet 🤪 I suggest going not so late, to enjoy the sunny day and because it gets dark faster in the forest. The place is absolutely magical combined with the fresh mountain air and along the way there are several places to stop and rest 🍃 You must add this experience to your Swiss bucket list 🙌🏼 Have you been there already? Plusy mojego chwilowego mieszkania w Tyrolu (oprócz oczywiście przepięknych widoków) są takie, że mam naprawdę blisko do rożnych fantastycznych atrakcji, a to „lodowisko” naprawdę zasługuje na uwagę 🥰 Jeśli będziecie zimą w Alpach, blisko Tyrolu lub Południowego Tyrolu, to koniecznie musicie zahaczyć o to lodowisko w Szwajcarii! Ja osobiście za łyżwami nie przepadam, średnio bawi mnie jeżdżenie w kółko, zwłaszcza w zabudowanym obiekcie, ALE TO, to juz co innego. Na miejscu czeka na was 3 kilometrowa trasa pośrodku lasu o zróżnicowanym nachyleniu, także- idzie się zmęczyć! Jeśli nie macie łyżew to bez obaw, na miejscu jest wypożyczalnia 🙃 a jeśli nie czujecie się zbyt pewnie na łyżwach to możecie wypożyczyć dodatkowo pingwinka do podtrzymywania się 🤭 Miejsce jest naprawdę super! . Would you like to skate through the Swiss alpine forest surrounded by the mountains on a 3 km circular loop ⛸️🧊 . This is possible at Eisweg Engadin located near📍Scuol-Tarasp. The location is quite remote but the views on the way to it are scenic from Landquart via Klosterz, Scuol and Ftan of Engadin region! It is open daily in winter from 10 to 17:00 till the end of February/beginning of March (based on the weather). To enter the area of well-maintained skating paths one should pay 12 chf (adults), 7 chf (kids), rent skates for 5 chf and rent supports for skating if needed for 5 chf - the helmet is included. . I suggest going not too late as it is getting dark faster in the forest. This place is becoming very popular so also avoid busy weekend days to enjoy more space on the paths.
