WIHere’s what’s actually happening to Electricians:
• The average licensed electrician is getting older, and beat up.
• Demand isn’t slowing down or we are going out of business from a workers shortage — it’s shifting into a new demand (EVs, load management, storage, smarter panels)
• The work is getting more technical, it’s not only black wires, white and ground… it’s more regulated, and more documented and automated.
• Customers are more educated and expect answers, and better contractors.
• The money is moving toward electricians who understand systems, and business , not just swinging a hammer and just work. They looking for experience and value.
What I’m seeing is a split.
Electricians who stay focused only on the tools will stay busy — but capped.
Electricians who learn how power, code, technology, and decision-making connect will lead the next push.
